Knicks will be on national TV much more after last season’s playoff run

With the Knicks coming off their most successful campaign in a decade, fans can’t wait for this season to get started.

The league releasing the entire schedule will just amp that up another notch, with a number of highlights.

The Knicks unsurprisingly tip off on national television, an Oct. 25 tilt against the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden (7 p.m., ESPN).

Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle get a tough test right out of the gate in All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

But currently injured ex-Knick Kristaps Porzingis making his return on a contending Eastern Conference team just adds even more flavor.

Now that the Knicks are back to being playoff-quality, it’s just the first of many national TV appearances — 25, to be exact.

Good, bad or ugly, they’re a staple on Christmas Day.

Now firmly entrenched in the ‘good’ category — going 47-35 and reaching the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2013 — the Knicks will play on Christmas for a league-record 56th time, opening the loaded holiday quintupleheader with a matinee against the visiting Bucks (noon, ESPN).

They could be sick of Giannis Antetokounmpo by then, playing at Milwaukee Nov. 3 in East Group B of the newly instituted NBA in-season tournament (7:30 p.m., ESPN).

There are several other high-profile Garden games, including hosting Nikola Jokic and the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets on Jan. 25.

They host LeBron James and the Lakers on Feb. 3, and Steph Curry and the Warriors on Feb 29.

And the World’s Most Famous Arena hosts the world’s most famous rookie when Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio come to town on Nov. 8 (7:30 p.m., ESPN).

The Knicks cross the East River to take on the Nets on Dec. 20.

After dropping nine in a row against their rivals, they took two straight late last season once Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving left town, and will look to build a modest winning streak of their own against the starless Nets.

While the Knicks also tip off NBA Rivals Week against the Nets on Jan. 23 (7:30 p.m., TNT), they close the festivities against a more heated foe.

There will be 11 nationally televised tilts across four networks over five days, the final afternoon seeing a clash against the NBA finalist Miami Heat in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals (3 p.m., ABC).
