Derrick Rose could be in line for a Bulls reunion in NBA free agency

Derrick Rose has a number of suitors in free agency — including a team that would bring everything full circle.

The former MVP guard, who hit free agency after the Knicks declined his $15.6 million option for next season, is garnering interest from the Suns, Bucks, and his former team, the Bulls, per Marc Stein.

Rose was drafted No. 1 overall by Chicago in 2008 and remained there for eight seasons, collecting three All-Star appearances and seven playoff berths during his tenure.

The 34-year-old is fresh off a two-and-a-half year stint with the Knicks, in which he played just 26 and 27 games with the team in the two previous seasons and averaged only 5.6 points in 12.5 minutes last year.

Rose fell out of the Knicks’ rotation last season and only played three total minutes after Dec. 31.

His recent stretch with the Knicks was his second time playing in New York — the former Rookie of the Year also was on the 2016-17 squad, when he averaged 18 points alongside Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.

Rose, whose career once looked like it had a Hall of Fame trajectory, was derailed from his superstar path after a brutal ACL tear in 2012.

He averaged 21 points and seven assists in his first four seasons, but has never cleared the 20-point plateau again and has struggled greatly to remain healthy since the injury — only posting two seasons in which he played more than 60 games in 11 years.

Rose could fill a point guard void for the Suns, who just traded Chris Paul in a blockbuster deal to acquire Bradley Beal.

The Bucks have star point Jrue Holiday but could be in search of a veteran presence as they look to return to the NBA Finals.

Chicago has seen its share of point guard tumult, as former starting guard Lonzo Ball missed the entirety of last season and likely to miss the upcoming season — and perhaps more.
