I love Steph, he won me over very quickly since he came here, but back in the day (say the end of December 2003), Frank was my ideal point guard of the future for this team. If Isiah had done a few things differently, we could've gotten Sheed for Dyess from Atlanta and a few other moves...

Would I have been happy if Frank and Allan stayed healthy and we traded Dyess to Atlanta for Sheed, kept Lampe and had signed Posey for the MLE back in the day like I was PLEADING for? Then added Chris Andersen this off season for chicken scratch? And still made the Jamal trade (substituting Vuja for Frank)? Sure. Stupid Frank groin injury. Stupid Allan knee injury.

Frank, Moochie, Eisley
Allan, Jamal
Posey, Shan, Ariza
KVH, Sweets, JYD
Sheed, Andersen, Lampe

But the question, do people think we can build a championship team around Steph? If we'd gotten Damps cheap, maybe I would've seen it...but now...

And when that team doesn't make the playoffs does Sheed re-sign?

And who's to say Crawford wants to play here without Marbury.

I agree, playing with Marbury is a selling point for Isiah.Noone would be coming to NY to play with FW as much as I liked him.Crawford(if he pans out)will add even more interest around the league.Players still use NY as a bargaining chip but adding players like Marbury and Crawford will make more of them actually want to play here.

not a bad scenario, but the key is a Frankie and Houston backcourt is nice, but a marbury/ crawford(it is only a matter of time before he starts) is potentially lethal, and that is the difference, after watching steph these last two olympic games he looked like the best player on the court either teams. He looked like he could do what he wanted to out there and that is the player I think we can build around, crawford should fit in nicely with the knicks and form a lethal backcourt..

I think everything is pretty much set....If Marbs had a post threat the Knicks would be crazy lethal....

I think this team will forever be changing as long as Isiah is here....As of right now Isiah had put together a pretty decent team....I think he wants Craw and Marbs to dominate and dictate the offense much like Detroit but Marbs and Craw is potentially better than Rip and Chancey.

if we cant build a championship team around one of ny's most favorite sons, don't ever talk about bringing one of our own back to the crib, if you still having second thoughts, trade starbury for vc. whatever hockey-town does should not necessarily dictate ny to follow suite

athletic power forward, to back up sweets(providing sweets pans out the way we imagine he can), half way decent center that can avg 15-20pts/10reb/2blks at least per, and i think were set.
that back up power forward is easily ubtainable in clark. another plus in clark is he's also a good shotblocker. now that center, not so easy. at least not till next off-season. w/our ending contracts should not be a problem.

huh? Those stats are beyond halfway decent. Those stats would give you the 2nd best center in the NBA. "Halfway decent" for a center would be something like 9 pts, 7 rbs and solid defense

I think we need another top player - someone who plays at an all star level to compete for a championship. Vince Carter or Artest would make this team a serious threat in the playoffs. I'd prefer Artest because of his defense.

That is reaching because there aren't many centers in this league that can do that.....the ones that do are locked up by the teams they currently play for......

The Knicks have Nazr and he's a half decent center....

The Knicks front court is just a wait and see type of thing.....

I think as far as everything else Steph is slowly getting some good players around him.....I think everything starts with your point.....he has his shooters, his slashers, his scorers, and rebounders.....if the guys can have a good training camp then the Knicks could suprise.....

ok, maybe i have high standards, but nazr is only a decent back up. i'd be fine this season w/just an athletic power forward. maybe keon. the center is going to have to wait till' next year.
