Is is Houston? Assuming, they miss out on a Gasol trade by the deadline, they have plenty of players that are "team options"
While they will not offer the same package they did for Amare for Gasol.
It is possible, they will offer a bunch of salaries that would match up for Amare.
Starting with possibly Thabeet and/or Scola or Dalembert.
A deal that would possibly make us even worse and would create the chance for a higher draft pick this year for them or whoever owns it.

At this point, I don't know if teams will be willing to give us an expiring for Amare.
I don't know if we are better off having a serviceable player PF like Scola and 1 year rentals, to match up with salaries, with Fields/Jordan/Lin or whoever that doesn't make much money for roster spots.

However, if we continue to struggle, with our inability to add quality players to our roster.
We might take a good look to admit our big 3 do not mesh, while trying to replenish talent in this years FA and/or trade for serviceable players.
Without many draft picks in our near future, we are unable to do a full blown rebuilding mode, and Amare's current play is unlikely to land us future draft picks with expirings.

This is a more realistic trade scenario, if we want to trade Amare and hold on to a core of below, while coming back next year with FA signings, going under the cap.
