Here's the scenario:

I start out logged into UK. I go away from my computer for a little while (leaving my browser window open). When I come back, I'm no longer logged in. Is this happening because I didn't click the "remember me" button? What is the timeout, like 15 minutes?

This may be related to the Having trouble identifying threads with new posts issue.

well, how about this... what would you expect to happen if you don't have the Remember Me checked?

I would expect the system to remember what threads I've visited whether I stay logged in or not. I would think that when I visit a thread, an entry could be made in a table that I visited a thread at, say 23:52 on February 1, 2010. Then, next time I hit the forum, a query could be done - if there's any posts entered in that thread after 23:52, bold it for me. Of course, it would have to do this for every thread on the page. If I never visited a given thread, there'd be no entry in the table, so the code should assume I've never read that thread.

I'm sure it's more complicated than this - like maybe you don't want every single thread that I haven't visited back to the beginning to be bold, but I'd be thinking along these lines.

It's no biggee. You'll get to it when you get to it. Like I say, I'm sure it's more complicated than I realize.

This question worries me. I'm not sure why.
