If you are going to take on 7mm in additional salary--shouldn't the player be a significant upgrade to what we have? Hughes is NOT an upgrade to Q Rich--he has been bad for years. Wilcox should work out nicely but I am concerned with the PT Hughes will get--he should NOT get any time over Nate or Chandler not should he take the 8 minutes Gallinari gets. That leaves Q Rich--and is this player better than Q Rich---not really no.

Hughes is a bit better from the field than Q Rich, can get a lot of steals (this could be important for us get some fast breaks) and can play a little point. I think he fills a hole, though he's not ideal

Briggs is Hughes head is right he is a good defender and will shot about 42% from the field. He is a vet and if he plays like he did in Washington this is a steal if he doesnt we let him rot on the bench. Love wilcox will help us inside.

The Hughes deal also freed up 2 roster spots and Gallo might step in and get Thomas's minutes.

7mm $ is a lot to bet that a guy is changed. What can he do that Q Rich cant? On top of it--it's going to cause strive with Q Rich and possibly Nate

Hughes is a better all around player than Q. Hughes can run the point for good stretches of the game (something Q cannot do), he's a better defender, ball handler and passer than Q. As King said, its been more mental than anything with Hughes.

Last time Hughes played in an uptempo system it was in 2000 with the warriors. Hughes averaged 23 pts 6rbs and 4ast.

This gives Duhon a little breather and we don't have to rely on Nate to be the PG when he comes in. I don't see anything bad about this deal especially since we got Wilcox.

2 good deals by Walsh. Lets pray that Walsh really did deny that Sacratomato deal. F' the Maloofs.

In 2000 He was 9 years younger! We'll see---I have a feeling this will turn it to a hate parade quickly on this one.

Just not a big Hughes fan. Just another Crawford like player. But getting rid of Jerome and freeing up the roster spot is all worth it.

Why hate...its pretty clear he's only a 1 and half rental. No one is expecting him to be a savior.

Hughes has sucked in a lot of places since leaving Philly and will continue to suck it up in NY.

If he hits close to 40% of his 3's and gets us a steal or two he's basically as good as TT and better than Q

This is going to lead to unrest. You have Q Rich Chandler Nate Hughes Duhon for basically two positions if we consider Harringtons' going to get 38 at SF. I cant imagine taking 1 minute from Nate or Chandler because they are vastly superior to Hughes. So we will haev a pirsed off Q Rich for the next 1.5 years. I heard Hughes as back up PG--did anyone just watch Nate play PG? this is just going to be a big fight for PT and pirsed off players. Hughes is not a good team player--there is a reason why he is traded yearly and then banned to the bench after they get what they have. I don't care --but the players will.

I think that we needed another guard in the rotation anyway. You can usually tell which nights Q is feeling it and when he's having one of those 3-14 nights. Having Hughes for that isn't terrible.

This site is still hilarious though: http://heylarryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com/

Someone made a point about the 2 for 1 clearing a roster spot. We will all miss Jerome James great sense of humor though and his passion for the game . (his words not mine)
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
