I just posted something about this, but it was in the thread about the Nets dropping. I'm not a pessimist, as most here know, but it's hard not to notice that we have to play the most good teams compared to the others fighting for the playoffs. Of course, 3 of those teams have been playing awful lately, and the other is without their best player. Our injury situation isn't great either, so it will be interesting to see what happens. There are quite a few head-to-head matchups between teams fighting for the last 3 spots, but it almost seems like the teams that lose least will get in, unless two teams shine more than they have this month.
2 games against Dallas, Toronto, Cleveland & New Orleans, ain't easy. N.O. does have a losing record, but have been playing well and is fighting for the playoffs as well. On the other hand, Sacramento, who our competition for playoff spots plays a few games against, has also played better lately, making a playoff push, while the bottom East playoff teams have struggled. Even Toronto has started to look more mortal again, record wise over the past 10 games.
What really kills me is how we are 2-8 against our division. That's a testament to how much of an enigma our team is. Question is which Knick team will be the one to show up the rest of the season.
