I think the Nets and Indy will fall out of the race. I just don't like the way either team is playing and then you factor in their remaining schedules and I don't think either team gets out of March unscathed. Orlando may also be done. Tho it's hard to say with them. They have been down so long that maybe the worst is over for them. Miami is hard to read. If Shaq can keep this up, then they're gonna stay in this but I just wonder if he's gonna be able to keep this up. I don't like Miami's supporting cast. I don't see them being able to sustain good play the rest of the way.

The Knicks are mainly about Steph staying healthy and getting our guys back. If we do, I think we can win just enough games to take advantage of the other teams falling off.

wow, New Jersey's schedule is brutal. it's kinda sweet that we get to play them coming off a back to back twice. Indiana's schedule is tough as well.

Orlando's schedule is pretty similar to ours, but we own the tie-breaker and Orlando has been playing horrible since the beginning of December. they're 14-28 since a 14-5 start. they're just a bad team. Knicks are 19-16 since a 9-17 start, on the other hand aka 19-16 since the brawl.

If it comes down to the last game of the season, does Chicago tank to the Nets to insure that the Knicks are in the lottery with their pick?

I really want to see the Pacers out of the playoffs. They are just a boring team to watch.

9-17? Oye! There are at least 5 games the knicks would have won with how the team is playing right now. That's the season right there!

Playoffs or bust! Can't let the bulls get a lotto pick off the knicks.

Check this out if the Knicks won just 5 games they should have won or if they won 5 games during the ugle 9-17 start........

The knicks record would be 33-28. Just ponder that while you look to see where in the standing the knicks would be right now.

Fuck!

Some stains take a while to get rid of, Larry Brown is one such stain. They'll be fine in the long run, but yes, it'd be sweet it they had some of those games back - the only two games that REALLY hurt are the consecutive 1pt losses to the Nets and Wizards on last second shots. Even with those wins we'd 30-31 right now. But no need for excuses or woulda coulda shouldas, they can make the playoffs. beat Toronto a few times in the next few weeks and they can think about the division, too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Over the next 3 games I can seriously see us and the Nets going 0-3. I hate to be a cynic, and I'm not saying the Knicks CAN'T win, but the Sonics have won 6 of their last 10, and then we face the Wiz and T.O. on the road. The Nets almost look like a sure thing for going 0-3, while Orlando could be 1-2 as well as Indiana and Miami could go 2-1.

Gotta play the games, but it really seems like it will likely be a larger game of Thunderdome...

Oh baby those 2 games were a killer. That's what I told DJ at the get together. Those 2 games are haunting the knicks right now.

You know this thread has made my day. The knicks are making progress. The record sucks but that 19-16 since the brawl sure takes a load off. (DJ is on a roll)

21 games left? Can I get a 12-9?

Go knicks!

Sure there's a chance we could go 0-3, but with so much time between games. I'm betting that the time off and the extra practice days will work to our advantage. The seattle game being at home, I think we can pull it out. I'm not overly impressed by Wash. I'm really curious to see how we match up with Toronto tho, cuz they've been winning so much. I just can't believe that they're as good as they've looked.

I don't know. They lost to a bad Orlando team the last time those two played. I think Chicago is keeping their eye on the playoff race and would not be surprised if they lose their games against Indy, Orlando, Miami, and the Nets. They play Miami and Orlando this week. If they lose both games, I think it is clear they are tanking to keep the Knicks out of the playoffs.

Remember, we play better against the best teams. We lose to the inferior teams and we have very few inferior teams left to play.

I don't think the Bulls would tank games at this point to help the knicks into the lottery- they're playing for positioning.

Last game of the season? If they don't have anything to gain themselves, and throwing the game to the nets puts the knicks into the lottery- I'd be surprised if they didn't.

And we could dream that David Stern would investigate, and 'McHale' the bulls and invalidate the swap.

You are probably right. It is still too early for them to tank games, though I will be watching to see if they lose to Miami and Orlando this week. There is no way that should happen.

I can see teams "resting their top players" in the final game or two of the regular season, as long as they're playoff matchups are locked in. Last year, the Nets ended the season on a losing note because they were a little lax in the very end, stopping at 49 wins.

Sounds like the Knicks have a very decent shot at making the playoffs.

Indiana seems lost right now, especially since the trade. They haven't found good chemistry yet. It seems like Troy Murphy is playing at less than 100%, and Dunleavy Jr. is still just about as inconsistent as ever. They lost a bit of defense and scoring in the trade and have to rely on young players to play big roles. Heck, they also have to rely on the injury prone Tinsley and the 38-or so Armstrong to lead them.

I think there's room for us. We've got our own injury problems, but if Francis is motivated, he'll be able to play through the pain.

Still, I wonder how much Crawford's loss is going to hurt Curry in the long run. Seemed like half his points came off Crawford assists.
