Here's what Zeke said about Bird

During the 1987 Eastern Conference Finals, Isiah and the Detroit Pistons faced off against Larry Bird and the favored Boston Celtics. In Game 5 in Boston, Detroit led by a point with five seconds left and maintained possession. Isiah attempted to inbound the ball, but it was stolen by Bird, who quickly passed the ball to Dennis Johnson for the game-winning layup. This play is considered one of the more embarrassing moments of Isiah's playing career. Boston went on to win the series in seven games. Following the defeat in Game 7, Isiah was asked about Bird's performance in the series. Isiah responded that, "If Bird were black, he'd be just another good guy."

But yea that wasent classy.. neither was what he said about Greg really - he had a point but he needed to say it better

Character assasination? Really? Doesn't Larry Bird have a daughter he will not acknowledge because its inconvenient to him? Didn't Michael Jordan have a huge gambling problem? Wasn't Jason Kidd at one point called a wifebeater? Come on man! No one is perfect. Better men than you and me are guilty of saying much worse.

Why are you even bringing this up? What is the purpose of going back to 1987 at this point? What could this possibly have to do with the job he's gonna do this year as our Coach? How about we just stick to things that have real relevance to the present. All I care about is how he get's this team to play this year and in the future. Crap like this means NOTHING in relation to the job he does with this team. I could personally hate the guy if I knew him, but that's not the issue. Can he get this team to WIN, is all that really matters.

During the Pistons' first game against Stockton's Utah Jazz since the Dream Team selection was announced, Thomas scored 44 points in a Detroit victory. [3]. He announced that he belonged on the Olympic team, and while he didn't name Stockton outright, many inferred that Thomas was saying it was over Stockton [citation needed]. When the two met again on December 14, Thomas drove to the basket and was elbowed above his left eye by Jazz forward Karl Malone, opening a gash that required some 40 stitches while nearly knocking him unconscious in the process.

What Malone did was near assault but nevertheless another example of how classless Zeke is. You don't Donn yourself to a Dream Team you let the selection process run it's course. The dude is an Attention Wench.

LOL! How typical of a Zeke/Marbury Nut-Hugger to insert other people into the argument that have no relevance on the Lecture At Hand. All those things mentioned above are not good, so I'm not quite sure what point you were trying to make. Condoning wrong behavior is not condusive to change. We're on the topic on showing Class and Respect and Zeke doesn't have a lick of any.

Starting to sound more and more like Bip with each passing day. I knew I would start to rub off on you sooner or later. They can fight with me everyday if they like but sooner or later they all switch to my way of thinking. Who's next?

You know what, if IT was a good GM nobody would care about him saying anything.

But since he is worse than Layden at this point, I hate everything that comes out of his mouth.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Isiah has done many cheap petty things in his life but the Bird comments were not among them. rodman made them. a reporter asked Iiah about them. He just repeated them with a laugh.

Karl Malone sending Isiah to the hopsital was probably deserved though.isiahs crap comments about Stockton and his cheap shot during the game on Stockton made many people happy karl gave him some. especially since Isiah was known as a guy who would take cheap shots and then let the "bad boys" cover his A$$. Isiah trying to freeze Jordan out of the all star game was classless.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

winning transcends everything in sports. Isiah was one of the best guards to have played the game. Dirty? Yes. Tough? Yes. Winner? Bigtime.

His attempts to carry that over as an exec have been utterly futile. His team stinks. His players quit on his $50mm coach, who quit on them as well. His payroll is a joke, as is he record as an exec and a business man.

I dont really care if he's slimey or a jerk. So long as your not molesting kids or raping girls I can live with it. Punch a camera guy? OK. Drug problem? Hey it happens. Tax evasion? Bummer. Domestic violence? OK.. I have a problem with that one, but so long as you win NYers can look past a lot of shortcomings.

So here's Isiah's chance. He's had 3 years, spent a gazillion $$$s and every guy on the roster is his. Win or be gone.

...So maybe since Isiah has no class & that will really determine if the NY Knicks has a really successful season or not... We should "can" Isiah now & re-hire the classiest of individuals ... the one & only Mr. Scott "State of Inertia" Layden.
