There are not many worthy players that I think we can afford to over pay or take chances on like Ray Allen and Terry.
Would rather like to see players who will come be at a discount than over pay.Beasley is an interesting option, if the TWolves do not offer him a qualifying offer.
With Wesley Johnson and Derrick Williams in the mix already, they just might let Beasley, AR and Webster go, wouldn't be surprised if all 3 were let go.
Beasley had a great year 2 years ago, in 2011, but he played more as a 1st/2nd option.
He was injured for much of this season, but when Rubio, Kevin Love, and JJ Barea went down, he showed glimpses of why he drafted with potential.
Like Melo, he seems like he is a high volume scorer, that excels in a fast paced game vs a half court offense.
Cons include a low basketball IQ and has lack of a motor at times.
Pros are that he has physical talent, good size at the SF, with the ability to rebound, and score in bunches.
He relies much on his shot, but at the MLE, and for his age, that would be the only reason such a high draft pick would be available.
I would have a tough time deciding signing 2 players like Odom, Ak47, Mahimi, and even Kenyon Martin vs Beasley.
But I can see why Briggs would like to take a chance with a player like Beasley, especially if we can sign another vet with a LLE.
Maybe a little less than the FULL MLE, if Twolves let him go, so we can use a little of that room to sign a player that goes undrafted think it will be like starting at 500k for 2-3 years along with our 2nd round pick.

Before winning this arbitration, I was looking at cheap candidates to fill up our roster, not sure if they will get a look at a roster spot now that we won though.
Was wondering what you guys thought about these type of energy players of the bench, in limited minutes?
I also like Anthony Tolliver from the Twolves and DeMarre Carroll in Utah, as a cheap options, nice hustle players like junkyard Dog.
Tolliver is a forward that knows his role, hit the wide open 3, and provide hustle, energy, rebounds, defense, and runs the floor well.
You can look back, when he is giving a chance to play, he is really effective for short minutes as a starter or a 8th man + in his career with 15-25minutes a game.

DeMarre Carroll lead Utah back to a more respectable game as they were getting swept by Spurs at home this season.
Poppavich, was set to give Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili to sit out the rest of the game, till Carroll lead the Utah Jazz back with his hustle, energy, and defense.
Forcing a more respectable score, The Spur's big 3 to come back in to close to game, but unable to avoid the sweep from The Spurs.
He was picked up from the D League, and has shown limited production with limited minutes.

As for players like Anthony Tolliver and DeMarre Carroll, I feel they give 110% in practice with effort, intensity, work ethic, and remind some players especially that there are players that are hungry and willing to play tough defense if you are not. They might not be talented like many players but they have love for the game, heart, and bring their work ethic in to practice/games. Having some players like this would be good examples for our 2nd round picks and players we sign that go undrafted.
With the way they have been inviting so many players with only one 48th pick and the 35 year old PG from Spain, management were ready to take different approaches.
I think they will wait and see who falls out of the draft, now we have the ability to sign a few players in this deep draft as cheap option for 2-3years with a little part of our MLE.
This would probably be our last MLE we can use till Melo opts(earliest) out in 2 years, assuming we resign Lin, with just the mini MLE at 3m to use.
So till ATM are contracts are done, this will be our last chance to acquire talent in FA.
