Those guys are crap. Sorry but a Lee/Gallo/Chandler core is better than anything Cle has. I would not be suprised if Hill passes Varejo once his minutes come in.

To say he can make as much in Cle as in NY is silly.

The fact remains Lebron's current team is #1 in the East. They still have Big Z's expiring to get Lebron some real help. While Varejao isn't a star player he plays D and can do the little things while being a mobile big.

Lee/Gallo/Chandler are all forwards. Last time I checked Lebron is a forward too. If Isiah taught us anything it's talent doesnt win games by itself. You need to have pieces that fit.

I'd also like to mention you have teams LITERALLY trying to give away players to get under the cap or avoid the lux tax. I suspect Cleveland will get a good PF for Big Z around the deadline and that will probably be Jamison.

first of all Chandler is averaging 17points, 6rebs and is shooting 50% in his last 21 games since moving to shooting guard.

If all we did was add Lebron he would probably play PF, because that what MDA when once asked said where he would put LBJ in his system (like Marion).

Douglas 6'2
Chandler 6'8
Gallo 6'10
LBJ 6'8
Lee 6'9
bench: JJ/Bender/Hill/Landry
5 skilled starters who can defend, create, handle, pass and shoot. You going to tell me LBJ cant picture himself winning in that lineup? Det went to b2b finals and won one with a 6'8 center who had no roll on offense. Thats a big long athletic team that can beat you 20 ways to tues

Its not Lebron or bust, because after we resign Lee that core of Lee, Chandler and Gallo is looking better and better every game. This coach is looking better and better and we will still have cap space to either add a player (FA) or take on $$$ for a long term player a team doesnt want anymore. Then you have Curry and JJ's expiring deals as well... Knicks will have a lot of options IMO.

What did we really sacrifice to make a run at LBJ? Crawford?

talking about the fans. all every knicks fan has talked about the past 2 years is 2010. that's it. and if it doesn't deliver lebron or wade (and that's how the majority of knicks fans feel - you know that), you can bet there will be a huge contingent of fans very dissapointed.

I would agree.

No doubt about it.

LeBron could go there and have his best chance to win right away, but lebron needs his own emipire, that's wade's city. Plus he would always have one more ring than lebron and if lebron is the ultimate competitor he should not settle. Besides they are two of the greatest in the game, but for the most part are a bad fit together.

Great a SG who cant shoot. While that lineup would kill in NBA 2K I dont see how having a Doorman at C and a SG who cant stretch the defense would be ideal for Lebron.

Lebron is only 25 yrs old. He doesn't need to NYC now. If he resigns he can force a trade 2-3 years from now and still go to where he wants.

seems to me that Chandler at 50% since moving to SG is *shooting* pretty good to me.

Stretch the defense? Really dude? Gallo doesnt count there? Not to mention that Lee has been money from 18 feet?

I have never played NBA 2k, but pretty sure that line up would be pretty good in NBA real life.

This is a nice shooting lineup regardless of whether or not chandler shoots the 3 well. He will get better, but for now he is still a very good mid range shooter who fits well next to lebron. He will also improve a lot on defense and become what JJ is for us now. We should still add another pg like Foye or Blake and then you're set for shooters, plus resign bender for off the bench. This team will still lack interior defense but for now, will be one of the more versatile defending teams and top perimeter defensive teams in the league. We won't have all the pieces over night, but we can address the biggest need in 2011. For now you're looking at an 8-man rotation of

C Lee, Hill
PF James, Hill
SF Gallo, Bender
SG Chandler, Douglas
PG Foye/Blake, Douglas

Very good balance, great shooting, and solid defensively.

Exactly. Wade and Bron are both too competitive to share the spotlight. LeBron can never catch Wade in rings if they are teammates.

And I'm sorry but I don't see LeBron going to play in NJ for a year (or more) while he waits for Brooklyn.

I think it's so important that we get that 8th seed and play Cleveland in the 1st Round. Show LeBron James what the Garden is like in April and prove to him that we have a better supporting cast. If we take the Cavs to 6 or 7 games and Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler have monster games, King James is 100% ours imo.

Positions? We don't need no steenkin positions!

Lee - midrange offense, ball handling from the midcourt line to the foul line, rebounding and astounding
James - ball handling from the backcourt to the rack, just think Magic Johnson
Gallo - ball handling against token pressure and license to hoist, think Jerry Lucas

The Mayor - defense against anyone, offense will only get better as he gets more respect and calls from the refs, he makes his free throws and that is always a good thing

Toney Douglas - tenacity on defense and a summer with Nate Archibald, Moms keeps the skeezers at bay
Bender - three point range and rebounding help if his knee band invention works as advertised, you can't teach height and he is 7'
Hill - learn to go glass, rebound like a madman and eat your vegetables

best five play

Absolutely agree with this, that's the type of flexibility we would have. And Hahn suggested something interesting in his chat; How about a starting lineup next year of lebron, chandler in the backcourt, and lee, gallo, and a big like frye in the frontcourt? Crazy big and deadly, there would be no way for other teams to match up. And ironically, Frye may have become the perfect center alongside lee in a d'antoni offense. I'm not sure if frye would come back, but adding a shooting center like him would be nice for this team.

what does it say? Is this the same Chad Ford that predicted Darko would be better than Lebron and Melo? Do people really put stock in what he says? The day he reports "Lebron appears to be a lock for going to the Knicks" is the day I know its not happening

Lebron + D'antoni + Gallo/Will + others (given max 2011 or trade in 2010) gives Lebron the opportunity not just to win but to revolutionize the game - per the comments from Hahn's chat. It could be transformative and change the way the game is played. That along with rings and the money coming to NY would bring, I feel good about our chances. Wouldn't want to be Cleveland right now (though at least they aren't Detroit).
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

agree w/Knixkik... if Lebron comes to NY, then he's King of NY... he goes to Miami & he's what, D Wade's running mate? i guess it would be akin to ARod coming to NY to play alongside Derek Jeter... if winning championships is Lebron's main goal, going to Miami shouldn't phaze him... but if he wants to be the biggest legend that he can possibly be & become a billionaire someday (like he's said is his goal), then playing in NY would be the way to go... he can just as easily attract other bigname FA's to wanna come to NY or even CLE for that matter... i think Lebron's got a huge ego & loves the spotlight... no brighter lights than the ones on Broadway.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
