I was hoping the Knicks would take a shot at Greg Smith here. This pick reminds a lot of the Rautins pick. I think you go upside in the second round and I don't think Harrellson is an upside pick. I think his ceiling is Aaron Gray but Gray was a much better college player. This was a puzzling draft. It seemed like Isiah drafted in round 1 and Layden in round 2.

For those who wanted Benson or Tyler - we do not have the time to groom these players. We need help now. Otherwise we are paying Carmelo and Amare max money for early playoff exits with no help from the draft. At least now, when we exit the playoffs early we have some help from our draft picks

I like the pick, but sorry for the pessimism on the team - I still hate the Melo trade.

I did not like the trade then, and even less after last night.

The reason we could not make any major deals on draft night is that we didn't have the resources, in terms of players or extra picks, that we could have used as trade bait.

We got one 1st and one 2nd round pick. That's nothing special--it's the default. I wish Dolan would use his financial advantage to get 2 to 3 1st round picks every season.

I think that is definitely what we were targeting and i'm not mad at that one bit. Harrellson won't be a big time player, but definitely gives us long-term depth, whether has a 2nd or 3rd string center.

That's really all you can get that late in the draft of a relatively weak draft. This was loaded with role players and we got a couple. Real cheap talent. I do think that Iman has a chance to be really good. He's a special defensive player and a guard that can get up and down with the best of them. Think about it. Iman is only milliseconds slower than TD who was the fastest in his draft class. Yet he's on another planet in terms of his explosiveness. With both TD and Iman out there this team can really hold down the perimeter defensively. When was the last time we had 2 players with their level of lateral quickness and quick hands?

The guy is a load and I mean that in a good way. I like big men who can hold their ground inside and who rebound well. He's very limited as an offensive player and doesn't look like he has the potential to ever start, but he may stick as a bench player. And did I mention that he rebounds well?

This guy can likley make the roster and play in the NBA.

Jerry Tyler is a project. We got one already stashed. I like the idea of stashing guys in Europe and let them play on anothers dime but we don't have enough picks to do this. We keep trading out picks away.

Maybe buying picks is harder than we think. Gotta have the right guy you want and a team willing to draft for you. Seems most teams like to have 2nd rounders and use them.

Almost everybody this draft got role players. Its nice that we are in a position where the most we need is role players.

If you watch highlight vids of the kid, guys just bounce off of him like he's the blob. It's really funny. He doesn't move. Just stands there and guys can't knock him down. Once he gets on the block he's able to hold his position. He should be a good reserve banger.

exactly what i was going to post!

With the team we have he is a great Center beside Amare. They are so different that it works!

Yeah. I like this pick too. He'll probably get a few garbage points from doubles off of him. He's going to get scorched by alot of even the Cs' in the NBA but if he can grab some boards and deal some hard fouls to penetrating guards he could help us in a Turiaf type role.

You know what I like I feel that he wont back down against Garnett. We saw our players get rattled when Garnett starts with his antics.
I feel more confident now with Harrellson

Yeah, it's good to have a big strong guy on the floor who can push back.

I like this quote:

One Knicks insider on Kentucky center Josh Harrellson, who was selected with the pick purchased from the New Orleans Hornets: "He'll knock your head off."
