Every player seems to suck when he becomes a Knick. It's gotta be the atmosphere and the combination of players.

From top to bottom everyone disgraced themselves with the exception of Jerome James

that's a very thoughtful comment.

Well I'm not sure I can say I liked it, but I can say I didn't hate it. Free young talent without giving up a pick is not inherently a bad thing. I did expect some follow up moves, but they never came.

This team is at rock bottom, lots of blame to go around.

I can't remember if I liked the trade at the time or not- probably not.

That said- once Isiah is gone, I don't mind building around him if we can trade Curry- I have a feeling we might be able to get decent value back (young small & first round pick?) but the way things are going, possibly not.

I wonder if Curry will demand to be traded once Isiah is sacked

Here's what you said at the time dude:
I don't think its going to work. I wanted the Francis experiment to work. I'd like this to work.

Rather than get my hopes up, and feel terrible when the season goes horribly wrong- I'm going to be pessimistic and pleasantly surprised if things do work well.

Thanks! I wasn't crazy!

This all being said- the one caveat I want to through out- is I think the team as a whole is quit on Isiah- and until we get a new person in here, we're not really going to know if the ZaCurry combo monster is truly un-workable.

"As with every Isiah Thomas trade I have no idea what to expect. Great talent with a checkered past. He could be a revelation. He could be just another in a long line of overpaid players leading us to 35 win seasons, excuse making and telling the fans not to judge him harshly. Because Isiah never goes for proven winners, once again I have to sit back and hope and pray that this one works out."

"It's good to see Larry's plan finally coming to fruition. Now we know why he begged for Steve Francis. Like a chess-master he was making several moves in advance. He knew that someday Francis would be part of a blockbuster trade to bring Zach Randolph to the Knicks."

I liked the trade.
I still like the trade.
Randolf is 25 and brings 18 points & 12 rebounds almost nightly.

He a very good piece for building a strong team.

Our problem is leadership and consistence from the PG position.
We need someone that will keep the players in their roles and be smart on offense and fearless on defense.

so far, 18 & 12 ain't bringing us wins.
his 20 & 10 didn't bring portland wins either.

leadership is NOT relegated to the point guard spot.

kg is a leader. so is ray allen. so is paul pierce. rondo is not.

colorfl1, you comment reminded me of something. Why does leadership need to come from the PG position. It is nice, but is it really necessary. KG is a leader from the PF position.

Maybe the problem is Isiah has not brought in a leader....at any position.

How about this 3 team trade. Would have to be done at the deadline though.

Knicks trade Zach Randolph.
Lakers trade Kwame Brown, Radmonovic & there 1st & 2nd rd draft pick.
Magic trade Brian Cook, Pat Garrity.

Knicks get Kwame Brown, Garrity, Cook & Lakers first rd draft pick & future lotto protect pick, protected to 2012.
Lakers get Zack randolph
Magic get Radmonivic

Knicks - Kwame has a expring contract, rest are cap filler with smaller deals . Plus the first rd draft pick.

Lakers- They already have there superstar in Kobe Bryant so Randolph won't be the most talented player on the team. Maybe Phil Jackson could get through to him and he can provide Lakers with a very talented lowpost scoring option. This could also take pressue off of Bynum so he doesn't feel he needs to be the star in the post and he can focus on just playing basketball, rebounding, blocking shots and scoring in the flow of offense. Its a move that if it worked out would volt Lakers up a few notches.

Magic - Radmonovic gives them another player in the mold of Lewis & Turk to play around Dwight Howard, he would be an upgrade over Cook & Garrity. They seem to love these type of players.

i'm still waiting for the idiots to man up for supporting the Big Turd signing... fat chance ur gonna get anyone to admit their mistake for liking that Zach trade.

I liked the Zach trade. Yea I said it im not afraid to admit it here but really who last night looked like they even belonged in the NBA let alone earning a multi-million dollar contract? From top to bottom everyone disgraced themselves with the exception of Jerome James

I would like to take this time to point out that there has been countless idiotic things said on this board by many people so im actually in pretty good company

In all seriousness I think its fruitless to even have a discussion about whose worth keeping or who should be going (with the exception of Marbs) because its like trying to figure out what to salvage from a house while its burning.

i would've liked to have seen Turd get some burn in that game... so richly deserved for him to be a part of it all.

Liked the trade and still like it. For Frye and Francis? Heck yeah!!! The thing is that if we ever get this team to play consistently his contributions are a plus. He's still not fully in synch or fully trusting his teammates. I think he is trying too hard to make something happen, cuz of the losing.

You also have to factor in guard play and floor leadership that we haven't been getting consistently. He's not out there to direct the offense and we already know he's not a point forward type of player. For what we gave up to get him there's no way this was a bad move. As for the teams make up, I think he serves our needs far better than Frye did and he seems to work well enough with Curry.

Once again, on this team it's not the forwards and C position, but the guard position that makes or breaks this team. You can anchor a team with the forwards and C we have, but we have to get better guard play. Nothing has changed in that regard which is what is leading to the similar results. They have to play better or we have to replace them with better guards.
