To those who say we completely fleeced the Suns:

As Herb Brooks would brilliantly say "Sometimes it doesn't take the best players to make the best team. Just the right ones." Believe me everyone, I know Q is a much more talented player, but realistically, Kurt Thomas is probably a better fit for that team, run and gun or not. Why? B/c if he doesn't create space for Amare, JJ and Nash and even Marion, then his defender is gonna get burned for that ever so consistent mid range J, which he can now hit in peoples faces and even shoot off the dribble. By next December, tell me that Amare and Nash aren't gonna love playing with the guy on offense. He's as fundamental as you can get with that pick and roll style that Nash will LOVE and he's a hard ars worker on the boards and on defense. Isn't this what Phoenix needs? Another body to crash the boards consistently and to play some defense? KT is healthy and in great shape, has his head screwed on. He greatly improves their halfcourt offense.

If I must say so myself, I think the Suns chances of winning a championship next year just improved EXTREMEMLY significantly. Of course instead people are gonna call me a KT lover for this, but when we see that Phoenix takes either Detroit, Indisna or Miami to game 7 of the finals next year and KT is a important part of that, I'll still be called a KT lover.

Look, he's not a superstar, but like I said, he's still a perfect fit for that team, whether they run (And he runs) or not.

Chemistry and the combonation of players must lead to "the sum of the pieces are greater than the individual parts".

We had a pretty good roster last year on paper. But we saw the results. Three years ago we had a Don Chaney team with mostly good character players who started the season losing dice, and played to the last weekend trying to get the playoffs. On paper they were week, but played together. KT was our frontcourt best player.

For the suns, the emergence of Joe Johnson makes Q expendable. Good teams grow their own and trade out for either youth, or in this case a 32 year old vet who can give them 15 and 10 every nite.

Likewise, our team is getting younger and this is the right type of trade for us.

Some posters had mentioned to be patient with the MO. T deal as it allows either Sweets or KT to be traded for value. One move begets another!

I think the trade is a slight edge to the Knicks without the 1st rd pick included; with a first rd pick included it heavily favors the Knicks. We get the better, younger player. There's absolutely no reason the Suns should have to give up a 1st rd pick too (but I'm glad they did).

Why are you all so fascinated with Boozer??? he is a good player, but PF is not our weakness. We have a combo of Sweet, JYD, Butler, who are all PF...Malik is more of a SF in my opinion, but he gets the job done....We need to get ourselves 2 centers from the draft and one through free agency....the ones from the draft will not be ready right away to play a full 4 quarters, that is why we must find ourselves a security blanket...

Despite the article i still think IT's plan is to move TT and start Q at the SF. Hopefully we see a Thomas for Boozer type deal pretty soon.

well if the trade is Q and a 2007 lottery protected #1 its a good deal. People around here undervalue KT because they are sick of watching him while the KNicks lose but he's a good player with good value. Q has had some back problems but he's a good talent and younger also.

I think we actually made a trade and didnt horribly overpay. Call the press and give Zeke a key to the city. Its the first trade since we got Camby and Spree where we werent totally hosed.

Good trade for both teams. Nobody got fleeced. We helped them, they helped us.

NOt only that, Kurt has a chance to play for a contender...It is not bad at all. Let's hope that our Knicks enjoy the same success that the Suns has last season. If I recall correctly, the Suns had a worst record than we did the year before..

Kt will be missed. He was a steady force everynight. And who did not love his KRAZY EYES look?

I love the trade because we get younger and more athletic. Q is a strong 6'6" and can play SG or SF, that is key to IT's plans of having a flxible lineup. Craw and Marbs can switch up too. In other words, you have 3 G's and can play at least 2 positions. No matter how much one loves KT, you must admit he is not an athletic player. Great Shooter, but not a great runner, jumper or ball handler.

IT is still working at this. TT and Penny are next to go. H20 will be released and before we know it, NY will have an average age of 27-28 with all quick and athletic players who can play more than one spot. A teaching coach will be brought in and maybe not this year but the following, NY will be a FORCE again.

Its in my sig, NY in 06-07!

we will have a turbulent start, but by the trade deadlines, we will start to pickup steam. If it is true Zeke trade for Gasol which I hope, the league will be in trouble with the Knicks

Marb, Q, Ariza, Gasol, Frye or ????? with a decent bench and a good coaching staff, that is awesome

You're too much! I'm not even gonna go into the Marbury trade, but how can you see we got hosed by giving up Othella Harrington, Dikembe Mutombo, and Frank Williams for Jamal Crawford and JYD??

Don't be shocked if they do a complete 360 from where they were last season...
Guys like Kurt is bad luck...

Complete 360???

Then they'd be in a great shape having the best record in the regular season!!!

yea.. thats pretty funny stuff. This pretty much wraps up the title for the Suns next year. Trading with the KNicks is just a good luck charm.

Pheonix is not going to run the way they did this past season. Who knows what they're thinking, Q-Rich couldnt put them over the top so Kurt Thomas is the future??

Anyway, the Knicks need to stop being so back - court guard oriented and start thinking about how they plan to plug up the holes up front, which will get immeasurably worse if and when they lose Thomas. This is what happens when you have a former point guard as the president and GM of your team.

no one undervalues KT. The problem is the organization strapped itself by giving H20 $100 for 7yrs and not leaving any cap room to add a much needed star frontcourt player who isn't damaged goods like Dice was.

They could very well win the championship now. I'm not going over it again.

Of course, thats obvious. Zeke cannot hit a HR on individual trades. Give the guy time. He finally has tradeable assests in Penny and Tim. We will improve defensively. I am sure we will strengthen our frontcourt as well. Just give it time.
