According to the source, Knicks GM Steve Mills has done his due diligence in contacting Vogel’s reps. He expressed that Phil Jackson has not made a decision on how to proceed.

Obviously. Jax is on so much peyote right now, he might make it back to NY only as a spirit ghost in the afterlife.

Thank God for Steve Mills?

You guys do understand that Mills does what Phil tells him to do right?? Mills wouldn't have permission to call Vogel without Phil giving him the green light.

Does Phil have reception on his Nokia flip phone in Montana?

Like I was saying, the media and some fans just needs to chill the F out! Stop bashing Phil as being too stubborn or faking the coaching search or mailing it in. Just let the man do his job, his way!

Honestly, I would be ten times happier with Vogel signing than any realistic FA signing. Durant would make me happier but just not seeing that happening.

My suspecision is Mills is asking if there's interest and if so Vogel and Phil will meet in Montana, do drugs, and see if they're simpatico

If they are they will tweet a message from some obscure spot

Soft minds are molded by influence. We fans talk of whose "soft" and who is not. Meanwhile, many are very gullible and then like to come off as if they know what Phil and others are thinking.

vogel should get in his car, drive to Montana camp out and see if the "simpatico" manifests.......

Until then, the media is freaking hilarious!!

Nalod is onboard with a full Triangle front with Vogel as lead guy and Shaw on the bench.

The article said Mills reached out to see where Vogel's head was at and to see if he had interest in the job. Thank God he apparently does.. Also said Mills told Vogel Phil hasn't made a decision on how to proceed. WTF is up with that last part? How do you not know how to proceed, Phil?? And how do you think that came across to Vogel? He's away at his Montana lake house to think things over?? Gimme a break. Tells me there may be something to the rumor that Phil and Dolan may be far apart on a coach... Someone needs to be aggressive with Vogel or Blatt before we lose both of them.. Thank God for Mills is right. I appreciate any interest and patience both guys have shown. I tell you what -- I wouldn't have any patience with Phil and this whole friggin' circus, I can tell you that.

And I love the opposing exec.'s opinion on us: “Frank Vogel is a very, very good coach,” the executive said. “Now to me – and I am speaking as an outsider – the problem is not about coaches or systems but continuity. They have a new cast of characters every year. How is anyone going to learn any system if the players are always changing?” Tell me that's not the truth. This is why I'm looking for a little more than adding 1-yr Band-Aid type players. I'm not interested in giving Mike Conley Jr. the max--NO WAY--this is not the summer to hand out a max contract or even a near max contract.. I would like to see us add a few pieces that will actually be here for awhile though. Players who fit and could grow into something. Players we don't have to blow our entire financial load to get... They're out there--is Phil looking for them? Who the hell knows. I can picture him swinging from a tire on a rope jumping into a lake buck naked right now...Bottom line--Phil Jackson is completely uninspiring as far as I'm concerned. How can this dude possibly inspire going about his business the way he does?? Comes across like the novice, unsure of himself exec he truly is. That's not what we need, man. We need someone fully engaged right now...Can't wait to see what this weird, unorthodox dude comes up with, regarding coach and players.

What the hell are the Jax critics smoking these days? Do you EVER give it a rest?

Good Lord. Everyone gets time off - MSG burning? Call the fire department - Phil isn't the custodian.

Phil is more connected to this team and its future than the sum of you jamokes can imagine and you can bet his digs in the Dakotas have running water and internet service.

Sometimes it sounds like there are Jr High School dropouts writing this crap.

Exactly what caught my eye. Maybe Dolan is rethinking handing the keys to Lear!

Theory from Michael Kay, which I think makes the most sense:

The garden, in its constant state of paranoia, made the decision to leak to Berman (who always seems to get scoops) that they made contact with Vogel just to make it seem like they're trying. It's still Rambis

HALLELUJAH. HALLELUJAH. HALLELUJAH.

If Phil does this, all will be forgiven.

This is the right move. I hope he makes it.

I kinda agree with what they talk about on his show - they seem to be reasonable & have a good sense of what is going on behind the scenes.
