Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to New York and Dallas being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Dallas had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Change in Team Outlook: -10.6 ppg, +2.3 rpg, and +0.2 apg.
Incoming Players
Juwan Howard
6-9 PF from Michigan
0.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.3 minutes
Erick Dampier
6-11 C from Mississippi State
5.4 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 22.5 minutes
Outgoing Players
Wilson Chandler
6-8 SF from DePaul
2.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.4 minutes
Eddy Curry
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
13.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 26.6 minutes

I THINK ISIAH WOULD DO THIS KIND OF MOVE FOR A SHOTBLOCKING CENTER

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Why does everyone talk about a shot blocking center. Our bigs do 2 out of 3 things well they rebound and score and play little defense. Our wings dont score, dont play any defense, and cant keep a guy in front of them. We need to work on the perimeter since we have about 22 million invested in the bigs.

Dampier???? A 33 year old center whose contract is even worse than Curry's (more money, the same years). I like trading curry for a defensive center but... deep inside I know Dampier would perform better than Curry (can it be worse?) but I dont like the idea of having a 37 year old Dampier with us!

Few months ago I suggested Dalembert because at least he is young, but obviously now it is impossible to do that trade straight up (Curry for Dalembert) because the Sixers would laugh at us. Many people disliked the idea, I bet now it would be a blessing for them!!!

With Eddy it could be addition by subtraction.

Dallas has no low post threat on the team just defensive centers dampier and Diop.

Now that shaq and gasol has bolstered their respective teams, dallas can be desperate.

Trade Curry for the best deal possible, which probably will not include a center since good ones are more valuable and/or cheaper

With Damp they can at least put a big on Shaq so my guess is they stay there.

I think they make a play for Kidd and sacrifice Harris, but I don't know how they match salary unless they go with a third team. Too bad they have to dump Stack.

I've been saying Dallas for Curry for over a year. Dallas lacks interior scoring.

Curry's biggest weaknesses- lack of passing, shot blocking and rebounded- can be compensated for by the other players on Dallas.

Dirk can make the entry pass to Curry, and their shooters are lethal.

But, DON'T send me Dampier back in that deal. Its just a horrible contract, and funny that Cuban didn't want to pony up cash for Nash (how much do you want to bet Dallas would have a championship if they had kept Nash?), but they gave $70MM to a career back up scrub?!

This is the moves that Isiah would try and pull off.

Zach at least fights , eddy just can't handle NYC media anymore.

Dallas has more coaches 12-15 who can teach eddy how to play.

Diop can be the mavs defensive center

Terry what are you talking about, both Dampier and Curry have 3 yr contracts and Howards is up after this yr.

Dallas has the ****ty contracts to trade also.....diop/curry center combo would be nice. They should call Isiah.

Wow this makes tons of sense. They still will rely heavily on Dirk but they will have to double one of them. They don't bump head at all either since Dirk takes 90% jumpers and curry takes 99.9% inside shots.

At this point the Knicks need to just make moves. A few new faces and attitudes could help with the moral of the team.
