It's being hyped hard on RGM and it's kind of his MO. Fake injury not to workout for anyone--6-8 very athletic only a sophmore with good potential. Kind of sounds like what IT said that he was going to gamble with someone he could bring along slowly. All adds up

Played at the same high school as former DePaul standout Marcus Singer, who was his assistant coach at Benton Harbor… signed with DePaul on November 11, 2004. High School: High honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith’s… ranked as the 12th-best small forward in the nation by Rivals.com… tabbed as the 40th-best player in the nation by Rivals.com… 50th-best player in the nation by Hoopmasters.com and the 52nd by HoopScoop… 18th-best small forward in the country by Athlon… Michigan All-State mention as a sophomore and junior… averaged 22.4 points and 12 rebounds per game as a junior… helped Tigers to a 19-4 record as a junior… Michigan Hal Schram Mr. Basketball in 2005 (winning the award by over 500 points)… first team All-State by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan… averaged 24 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four blocks per game while shooting .680 from the floor as a senior… led team to unbeaten regular season and the state’s No. 1 ranking during senior season… participated in the Roundball Classic at Chicago’s United Center… McDonald's All-American nominee... EA Sports All-American... named to the ABCD Camp All-Star team... earned All-American honors from Parade... four-year letterwinner in basketball… coached by Ramsey Nichols. Personal: Son of Wilson Chandler and Marie Thomas… enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

NBA Draft: Wilson Chandler

Two star rating (Career Reserve)

College: DePaul

Class: Sophomore

Stats: ESPN.com

Position: SF/PF

Height: 6”8”

Weight: 230lbs

Accolades: Second Team All-Big East (07), Big East All-Rookie Team (06), Honorable Mention All-American – Street & Smith’s – high school (05), Mr. Basketball – Michigan – high school (05), First Team All-State – Michigan – high school (05), EA Sports All-American – high school (05), Third Team All-American – Parade Magazine - high school (05).

Scouting Report: An athletic combo forward.

Strengths: Good athleticism and hops. Can really get up and attack the rim. Very good rebounder. Very good shot blocker. Can score inside or step outside and hit the three. Very good NBA size. Averaged over 30 minutes a night both years in college playing in a big time conference.

Weaknesses: Is he a NBA small forward or power forward? Still a work in progress as a small forward and would be a little short for the NBA 4-spot. Very inconsistent three-point shooter – only a 30% shooter from deep for his career. Mediocre free throw shooter. Can be foul prone.

Projected 2007 Draft Range: Mid second round pick – undrafted.

Consensus: Chandler is an intriguing prospect due to his inside/outside potential, but “potential” is the key word. He needs at least another year in school to improve his draft stock and make himself more of a viable NBA small forward candidate.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I havent seen him ever, but I dont like what I have read about him. What we dont need certainly is another athletic SF who cant shoot consistently...

I've honestly never seen him. This goes back to my thoughts-is this a replication of what we have and wouldnt the synergy of the team be better served with what Steph said--someone who can really shoot the ball?

Looks good against St. Mary's of the Blind, but it would be a tough pill to swallow seeing us take a project guy at his position. Maybe IT's thinking if this guy learns to shoot and Balkman learns to shoot you could play them at the 2 and 3 slots with Lee at the 4? In a perfect world that would be great but, I'd be more comfortable taking a guy who could stroke it now and see if we can land a guy like this with a later pick.

Have we considered trading Morris for a late round pick? He's not going to be anything on this team anyway.

if this is the case you would hope that it flips the pick backwards to high second round and pick up a future 1.

I mustve seen him play because depaul played uconn the last two years but he just doesnt stand out in my mind. I will say Depaul plays very methodically and there are 2-3 guys that are kind of in that 6-6 6-8 range who have similar attributes.

Looking at our mock draft, as retarded as it is, there are going to be good players there at our slot.

This is the player--everything else we have heard seen this that or the other thing was just hiding this deal up. Like Channing frye--we are selecting Wilson chandler because no one from pick 14-22 will touch him--the problem is he hasnt worked out for anyone so we *could* jump back and be smart about it but that isnt happening. Make no mistake this is the kid bank on it unless the 1/1000 of a chance kobe is traded here or greg oden slips:)

I can see honestly see Isiah going Euro with the pick just to get in good with the rest of the league.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

There are more people who put these links on this board, without putting the URL on first. Here's how. First, from the address bar of the article you want to post, highlight it, then drag the highlighted address onto your desk top. Now when your ready to hot link the article to the board, hit the symbol above that has the leters 'ULR'. Put your cursor in between the parentesis and push them apart. Now drag the article to in between the marks and drop it in. 'Preview' it to make sure it works and then hit post new reply. This way, everyone can just hit the link and get the article. Otherwise, we would have to retype the address into the address bar to see the article. You can go to the 'testing forum' to practice. Try it.

Example:

(url)( /url)

Push them apart and drag article in between this:

Ugh, from what I hear, this would be a terrible stretch and a terrible choice. Hope it's a crap rumor.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
