After the Suns trade, its possible that we are heading to a rebuilding mode. That means players like Jerome James, Ray Allen and Zydrunas Illgauskas wont be Knicks. I think Zeke realizes his reign of the Knicks wont be for long, but I believe he is leaving them with the best situation for the future. And thats where Bynum comes in. At first, I was against drafting Bynum, but since we will be sub .500 for a while, we might as well take a gamble on him. Another player is Blatche, that was in the lottery before the playoffs started but all of sudden everybody has forgotten him. I can see us takin him a 30. Thats two high upside high school 7 footers. We then finish it up by drafting very athletic 6'10 Amir Johnson, yet another high schooler.

Is anybody against this, All out rebuilding or More patch work?

If we do rebuild, then Isiah is in for the long run. On the other hand, its the owners decison. Lets be fair, if Isiah is successful and allowed to rebuild, give kudos to Dolan. Likewise when its time to drink a "starphucks" grande latte, its Dolan all over it to get up the buzz! LIke a good caffiene buzz, its short lived!

My point, We could take all this youth and trade it for a player, or continue to rebuild and take our lumps.

I for one support a youth movement than try to win half ass!

Nets coming to brooklyn, better get it right or the city will belong to the nets!

I agree, and IT knows in this league, with a few good moves, even with youth, you can build a power house quick,as long as you have some good veterans, I assume he considers marbs, craw, rose and now Q as that, add in some younger talent, ariza, the picks, sweetney, mix it together and you have a winner. IT knows there is nothing like winning in NY.. he loves the attention and being the king of the basketball mecca is just too appealing for him to ever leave on his own. That is for sure..
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

Drafting Bynum would send the clearest message that the Knicks are looking long term.

Z doesn't fit with the up tempo team Isiah is apparently trying to build.

The Knicks have enough guards without Ray Allen, and have no room for his contract.

James could fit under some circumstances.

Knicks are rebuilding, but I doubt fully commit. We still have TT, Rose, and Mo.T. If we end up with BYNUM, look for the big Z to come and be the man for the next 2-3 years. Injury to him, or emergence of the rookie to displace him is a good plan.

The Garden cannot fully rebuild. With the new minor system, we can expand what Isiah is doing, which is in reality the right way to run a business for cash flow, and plant the seeds for a better tommorow. Displace the vets with rookies when we are ready, and internet chatter to argue the finer points of team rosters!

"This is not going to be a clean, smooth ride from here on out," Thomas said recently. "There's still a lot of pulling and tugging that we're going to have to do here. So for the next two or three years, you're still going to have to pull up your sleeves and get dirty."

"I think every team has to go into the season thinking and wanting to win the NBA championship," Thomas said. "I look at winning as winning the championship. I don't look at winning as getting to the playoffs and getting knocked out. Winning is winning it, not going to the Finals, but actually winning. The last team that has actually won here was, what, '72-73? They really won it.

They put the ring on their finger. To me, that's what winning is. And that's what we're trying to get to.

"How long that takes, I don't know. But there is a commitment to do that."

The Garden can fully rebuild. The fact that it has taken Dolan so long to make that commmitment with regard to both the Knicks and Rangers has only prolonged the process.

Of course, if the Knicks had kept Camby and drafted Amare, there would have been no reason to rebuild.

which goes to show that its about making smart decisions like drafting the best player available like an Amare & not Frye
