I think the smart pick for the Nets would be Chris Taft. Gives them more size up front and he can run up and down the floor, finish on the fast break and defend a little.

Nets are high on Ike Diogu. They say he reminds them best of K-Mart and he's most ready to come in and start at the 4 right way. Plus his huge wingspan cancels out him only being 6'8.
Fish would remove his own liver, saute it with fava beans and eat it with a lovely Chianti.

Monk, help me out, how are the Lakers more talented than the Pistons except for Kobe?

The Lakers 2003-04 vs. the Pistons 03'04 is what I meant.

Point is, that on paper **** is for the birds! It's chemestry and how you play. Last I checked, the Knicks and Nets had terrible seasons last year with the Knicks now making some adjustments. that whole 'on paper, the nets will kill the knicks' stuff is far from a solid statement.

Thats who I think they will take. Possibly Vazquez, but at the end of the day Chruis taft is 6-10 260 athletic with long arms and will benefit from playing with a pass first PG. If he was there at 15, I would take him or Diogu.

The nets are better at every position except PF, what is there to say?

the nets are more talented - there's absolutely no denying.

kidd > marbury
carter > Q/craw
(heck, carter > kidd)
RJ > ariza/tim/Q
nenad > ?
PF is undecided

thorn is a freak'n good GM and he knows what he's doing.

comparisons between the teams NOW are silly b/c it's not even close...

Its unfair to compare both teams yet. The Nets are a player away from serious contention (also an injury away from lottery). The Knicks are a work in progress that is slowly taking shape, but will probably not be ready in some time.

Jason Kidd will not play 82 games

Vince Carter will not play 82 games

Their backcourt is fragile. That takes care of that.

At center, we have yet to know what our center situation will be. You said that Kurt will be our starting center a few weeks back. I choose to look at the future like 'who knows?'. Collins is going through knee surgury. That's another factor.

This leaves people like Buford and the crew. ooooooo scarey!

Sean May will be a better NBA player than Frye. Bookmark this and look back.

Isn't May one of those guys that's so hard to tell? Like why did Carlos Boozer turn out so well and Lonny Baxter not?

If the Nets get Sean, they will immidiately be a much better squad. With Kidd at the point, Carter SG, Jeffeson SF, May PF, AND WHOMEVER AT C, given that they can also upgrade their bench, the Nets will be the 4th best team in the East.

and he immediately fits right in and scores 15 and 8 and helps them become one of the top 3 teams in the Conference again? It could happen. It's all a matter of fit.

Then we can congradulate Mr. Thorn on a great draft pick. There will be a great pick after the 8 that we will regreat. Happens every year. Hopefully we still do just fine with what we pick.

There will be a disappointment in the fist 7 picks too!
