From today's "The Oregonian":

It was, quite frankly, perhaps the most impressive workout the Blazers have seen this month, raising the possibility that the shooting-guard deficient Blazers might have found their man when it comes time for the third pick in Tuesday's NBA draft.

"Oh, I think Martell is certainly under consideration for three, sure," Nash said, hardly containing his enthusiasm. "And he could very possibly be that guy."

Webster's eye-opening workout didn't go unnoticed by one of the Blazers' cornerstones, forward Zach Randolph, who watched the display while rehabilitating his right knee.

"That kid can shoot the ball," Randolph said. "He is going to be a good player. He's got a nice body, and what, he's only 18? He's only going to get better."

Randolph paused, then pointed across the court to Allen, who was still seated near the workout area with his eyes on Webster.

"He's got The Man watching, too," Randolph said with a smile. "That's gotta say something when The Man comes to watch you. You don't see the owner coming for many workouts."

Another possibility for Portland if they were to trade with the lakers. Green at 3 for Lakers. Webster at 10 for Portland.

I'm hearing Bynum... he was in for a "secret" second workout yesterday with portland. It looks like the #10 and Caron Butler for #3, with the Lakers taking Green and Portland taking Bynum or Webster.

If the Blazers pick Green with #3 and leave Bynum for the Lakers at 10 - couldnt we take him at 8 and ruin their plans?

Just like how I'm praying this Channing Frye stuff is a smokescreen. We are in desperate need of a star frontcourt player, even a superstar. If it means we have to wait a year or 2 (B/c of the step back we took to take 3 steps foward) then I'm all for it. But if Isiah gets thoughtless and takes Frye, then we're screwed.

My first thought about that is that you would have to provide proof that Bynum will be a superstar and Frye wouldn't be. I mean just going to Isiah, and saying yeah take Bynum he is going to be good because Briggs says so probably won't cut it. I saying this because the kid cancel his workout with the Knicks. I mean that would be horrible just to draft someone you didn't even workout just on the basis that Kupcake wanted him.
