That one time exemption seems taylor made for ridding the team of H20!

It seems like it was custom made for us.

How many teams can also use it to the extent we can?

Would Philly dare to rid theselves of CWebb? Is philly even over the cap?

If Dolan can get Allan retired due to injury he can collect much insurance money to cover the contract and get an exemption to sign another player.

This is like a 70 million dollar swing for the Knicks!

With TT and Anfernee expiring this year, the knicks are really becoming respectable salary wise.

Allan, TT, and Anfernee are almost 50 million themselves! That more than the whole Spurs team salary!

I don't think we get under the cap, but it can be feasible in the near future IF WE WANT TO AND ITS A DESIRED STRATEGEY!

Thank you mr stern!

Please expand on that theory! How is it that Isiah would or could have such an influence? Not Mills? Not Dolan?

Nalod,
No question that this one-time exception is much bigger for us that most people here realize. It's almost too good to be true. It's like we were handed a solution to the Houston dilemma that saves face and Dolan gazillions. Amazing stroke of good luck! I hope that we can get as lucky on draft night.....
RSR!
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Does Isiah own the Knicks now? Cuz as I see it, I think Dolan reaps the majority of the benefits on this one. Likely scenario is there was a compromise struck that bought an influential owner (dolan) support for another matter he might have objected to.

Regarding the CBA, if it was a viable entity, the NBA could have easily bailed it out. The problems it had were vast and preceeded Isiah. Isiah thought he could jump in and buy it, and the NBA would bail him out. I think the NBA could have had it first, and if Isiah jumped on it to capitalize on a bail out, then he made a bad business decision.
