Nazr was the "Key to the Deal" afterall. Just the wrong deal and for the wrong team. Like Isiah said after he traded Nazr, he's no Patrick Ewing or superstar center but apparently he was good enough to start for an NBA championship team. Just not good enough to be a part of the Knicks. Lucky him.

Congrats Nazr

WTF are you talking about? The player we get at #30 may end up being bertter than Nazzy this year, nevermind next years too.

Nazr was just a piece of a championship puzzle. Of course he was good enough for us, but not at this place in time.

Spurs did the right thing to shore up their front line with a team obviously ready to make a playoff run.

We did the right thing to build toward a future.

Congrats to a fine organization that has done an amazing job winning 3 rings in 7 years. They planted seeds and developed the team the right way. A model organization!

SA was already the favorite to win it all at the beginning of the year. But obviously that trade had Isiah gift wrapping a the trophy for the Spurs.
I still think that was one of Zeke's better moves.

It looks like Isiah is no longer one of Detroits favorite sons. He helped the spurs win a championship against the Pistons. But then didn't Isiah have something to do with Dice being a Piston.

I dunno. I feel like the Spurs would've won this title with Malik. I don't think Nazr made all that much difference...at least in the finals.

i agree w/congrats nazr. that's pretty much it. like nalod said, he was a piece to a puzzle, he did'nt go to another team and dominate.

Hrm. Yeah, Nazr deserves congrats. Isiah screwed us on this deal--- the only way we do better is if we can find another double-double-type of center.

We *MIGHT* get a better player in the draft... is it likely? Well... maybe I'm not as optimistic about potential when you compare it to a someone with real production in the NBA.

Thanks for starting this pointless thread. 10 seconds of my life that I can never have back. I actually like Nazr and am happy for him and was aggravated reading this nonsense.

Wow....lessee.....I think playing next to Tim Duncan with a coach who is not senile or a newbe, asked to be a complimentary piece and to rebound an block shots as opposed to being the main cog down low and the top low post option. OK, guys let's all say it together...

Nazr is a GREAT secondary post player as long as he is playing with a star of Duncan's caliber.

All you need is the right player and he can make a WHOLE TEAM better (see Nash, Steve, PHX Suns).

ditto. what a waste of time. I hope I won't need to have this time later on in life. I would reflect on this moment and curse the poster with my dying breath.

Just check out www.nbaspurs.blogspot.com and check out some of the comments made about Nazr

Aftermath of Game 5
"-God, Nazr Mohammed has no clue at times. Brutal. Rasho cannot possibly be worse than him."

Game 5 Preview
"-Go small. Duncan is going to play 40 minutes. That leaves 56 minutes to be distributed to various players at the center and PF slot. Give Nazr 2, Rasho 10, Horry 32 and Big Dog 12."

During the Phoenix Series
"For 90% of the playoffs Nazr has been a horrible pick and roll defender. However, the 10% of time he didn't suck happened to be the last 6 quarters of basketball he played. He was so bad during the first half of game 5 that I was forced to write something about him during the break."

And a whole LOT more believe me.

I like Nazr for his hustle but he wasnt the guy to lead us to the promised land and wasnt a big piece (if at all) of SA's championship puzzle.

You guys are insane....Nazr was just the right man at the right time for SA. He was horrible the last couple of games, but he should kiss TD feet for saving his rear end.

The big news for the Knicks is not that Nazy put up 6 and 4 (or whatever his average was) to "carry" the Spurs to the championship; it's that we just traded Kurt for a player better than him AND got a future 1st rd pick in the deal. Was this news too good for you and you had to think of something negative to post?

I'm just wondering what rear head is, and where does Nazr hide his other, non read head. By the way he plays I'd guess its somewhere up his anal cavity.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Does anyone know a thing about basketball, that was by far one of Isiahs worst moves, trading a 6'10 center who kills on the offensive glass for a 6'6 power foward, with more salary.

The Spurs don't win with Raso, Naz made a big difference...

Isiah and Marbury should just start dating

That's just pathetic. You know he did the deal to get the 2 late 1st rd picks and took back Malik so the salaries would match. It's really a Nazy for 2 draft picks trade with Malike having to be thrown in.
I guess Isiah was right
