Then you would have a legit 5 and a lengthy 4, both young, who could be the new frontline of the Knicks for the future.

There skills are synergistic, combined size at 4-5 intimidating

In two years, you could have a starting frontline of

Bynum 7-2 275
Frye 6-10 1/2 245

forget the guard stuff right now, how can we get BOTh guys?

Yeah, that would be great, but we woudl have to have a firesale to get rid of some of those pf's, and we'd still need a starting center, because Bynum would be lucky to get 15 mpg his first year. Frye would probably get anywhere from 15-25 mpg in his first season. That would be a good move for us, but we'd still have to move some players around.

If you can get both these guys, then nothing else matters.

Forget guards, we will suck next year no matter what w/out a good coach, and the PF don't really matter either.

IT will have to solve the problem he himself has created by trading for Taylor and Rose.

But regardless, if you can obtain a 4/5 combination of the future, everythign else is secondary to that.

We should really try to trade for the Lakers pick. Offer them some established players and take on Grant.

Something like KT, TT, for Grant, filler, and the 10 pick.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

That draft for the Knicks would be like the Bulls drafting Chandler and Curry. I'd definitely do it. Skilled front court players are more difficult to find then most positions.

trying to be as realistic as possible here's how:
look at this page:
http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/la_lakers.htm

If they could dump Brian Grant they are looking at $15mm in cap space at the end of the year. Its not just the ability to add a max FA but they can also trade for one and not have to give back = salary.

TT + 30 for Brian Grant and #10.

Draft Frye and Bynam

What about Tim Thomas Kurt Thomas + Sweetney to Minnesota for pick 14 Wally + a resigned Sprewell 2 years 10mm

The thing about a move like that is the high reward aspect. I mean if both guys pan out, the knicks would have the most dominating front line in the east and probably the NBA. add Ariza at the SF, and you have a long athletic front line.. I like it... This is the type of chance IT needs to take..

There is absolutely positively no way Latrel Sprewell will ever put on a NY Knicks jersey again as long as Dolan is in charge. Never. Sprewell got fined by the league for those comments he made to Dolan and his family last year during the game. The two hate each other. No way. No sprewell.

This would be fine by me. Briggs, you think Bynum falls to 14? I don't see Frye lasting that long...

one thing... we know Isiah LOVES to wheel and deal. He hasnt let one trade deadline go without making deals just to make deals. He's got cash and he's got extra picks to work with.

It will be interesting to see if he goes a little wild on d-day.

Like I said, Im not against Channing Frye, but I don't think he's a true 5 and some of the X factors scare me on him. But synergitically with Bynum--I think they would work well together when they mesh in about a year or two. This is not like Curry and Chandler--these guys are more committed, higher IQs, workers etc.. It would give Knick fans what they are waiting for a true new frontline that is NOT pieced together with Malik Rose's Mo taylor's, yes it may take some time, but we have enough goods now even with a trade of some vets to make a run at the playoffs as well as devloping a real solid young team that can truly, one day vie for a championship.

Yeah Briggs, this would be my response. Spree isn't coming under any circumstances, but the essense of your deal is a good one that we discussed yesterday that I would do.

Does anyone remember how Lenny said once that he "went a little wild" at half time. It was in the post game after the huge Milwaukee comeback last year. It was one of his funniest moments as Knicks coach.

Yeah they could be beteer than Curry and Chandler. Bynum could be more dominating than Curry and Frye is already more polished offensively than Chandler. Chandler doesn't do much besides dunk on offense, but he is a beast on the glass and blocking shots, and I see Frye being comparable in those respects.

Grass is always greener!

Might we already be set with Jackie Blue, Sweets and say FRYE?

With Reezy on the wing?

The younger the player, the more GA-GA we go!

Welcome aboard BRIGGS. This makes sense. Use a lottery pick on a guy slated to go in the lottery and a late pick on a a guy slated to go late. My problem was never with Bynum, I'd be happy to get him, my problem was all the crazy talk about him.

I still think Bynum is a top 3 prospect in this draft, maybe 1 when time goes by, but I fully understand that there is a small development process[not as much as purported] and HS kids are discounted, but this kid has to much size talent intelligence and a nastiness about him[important aspect]to be ignored. Cna we get him at 30 NO F WAY never going to happen. Its going to take a move up into the draft to get him. I dont compare guys like Randolph Morris to Bynum. Wait two years from now, and tell me how good Bynum is, right now just get the kid!

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
