The Knicks are looking for either a center or wing player, and Webster fits the bill. He's 6-foot-7 and a sensational outside shooter, with a stocky build ready for the NBA. The 18-year-old averaged 28 points and 10 rebounds in his senior year. Gerald Green is the more highly touted high schooler because of his off-the-charts athleticism and he may not fall to No. 8, where the Knicks pick.

"He is the most ready of the high school kids," said one NBA official. "He shoots as effortlessly as any high schooler."

The knock on Webster, according to scouts, is though he's strong, he needs to get in better shape, is suspect on defense and too often settles for jumpers, not having a variety in his game.

I like webster but I'd rather have Green, Granger, Graham or Wright. We need someone with a higher ceiling or someone who can provide the Knicks with some D as well

I like Webster more than Green, but there are other guys I want ahead of him.

I like Webster and think he can turn into a better version of Glen Rice. But I have Granger and Graham ahead of Webster for the wingman wish list. Isiah will have mucho options to pick at #8.

I agree with taking Green (doubtful he's there), Granger or Graham before Webster. But I'd take Webster before Wright.

I know....I'm hoping Isiah can get another pick. I believe some good players will still be around at #30.....so it would be great to get another pick somewhere in between #8-#30.

Knicks I am basing my opinion just on what I have read....have you seen these guys play, maybe have a different point of view? Shed some light on my draft please! I can't wait until June 28!

Seriously...I have them ranked
Graham
Wright
Green
Granger
Webster

Here is why...I like Graham alot and I think he is exactly the type of player this team needs, and I just prefer power players as opposed to finess players. Wright seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and great size. Green AND Webster both dropped in my eyes because of the crap they are pulling with workout issues. I actually like Webster more than Green because of his size (even though it is said Webser plays no D), but just not showing up for workouts is REAL bad. The only reason Granger is where he is is because of his injuries. It would be a big blow to whiff on this draft with the amount of talent available.

Notes after the workout Webster had on Friday with Portland with the #3 pick, Keep in mind that three players (Marvin Williams, Chris Paul and Gerald Green) have declined workout invitations with the Blazers.

Team owner Paul Allen watched -- along with the team's upper management -- as the Blazers evaluated Nate Robinson, Rashad McCants and Martell Webster during a pre-draft workout Thursday afternoon.

And, judging by their comments, they might have found a player worthy of the third pick.

Webster, a 6-foot-7, 233-pound prep star from Seattle, was described as having an NBA-type body, a solid perimeter game, the ability to create his own shot, and something general manager John Nash wasn't expecting to see.

"What we learned today is that Martell Webster is capable of defending (shooting guards) at a very high level," Nash said. "(His) defense was very good and his ability to dribble the ball against pressure -- he can dribble the ball low to the floor -- was very impressive.

"He certainly is under consideration at three (selection)."

I'm very high on Webster. I have somethnig like...

Green
Granger
Webster
Wright
Graham

I feel like Webster is a guy who can compete for scoring titles in his prime. He has a big time scoring potential on the offensive end.

I think Granger is well ahead of all those guys. I said a month or so ago if he didnt have injurie issues he would be a top 5 lock, if not top 3. Size, speed, toughness, skills, and NBA body, a 7 foot plus wingspan, he's explosive and he's a gamer. He's also dominated against compeition at every level.

He's been nicked up over his CBB career. If he never missed game he would be every bit as touted as Marvin Williams

Wow....that's almost like my list turned upside down....:-)

Seriously Granger, scares me injury wise. My top 3 are Graham, Wright and Webster talent wise. Green's body scares me. I understand he is built like McGrady, but he is only 6-7, whereas T-Mac was like 6-9 when he came out. And I think Wright and Webster are basically on par with each other. The thing is Webster and Green are scaring me with their attitude.

No mention of any attitude problem in Webster's workout for Portland.

Granger seems to be over his injuries. Its a concern but he's the most advanced player on the list by far.

Green I have rated highest because of ceiling. He seems to have a smooth J and off the charts game athleticism.

I'm not really worried about atttitude. Most athletes dont have ideal attitude. You gotta start being crazy like Artest to start scaring me off..
