If Isiah doesn't select a Center with the 8th pick, I for one will be standing infront of MSG shouting for his resignation....
Yeah, we know. Every time you tell us, it just demonstrates your ignorance as a basketball fan. This 6'10'' and over crap is absurd. Aside from Bogut, there are no impact centers in this draft. Who knows how Bynum will develop and if he amounts to anything it will take 3 to 4 years anyway. I wouldn't be upset with Frye but he is a low ceiling player that may not be able to shed the soft label.
Granger and Joey Graham are looking like potential all stars. These guys play at BOTH ends of the floor and will add some toughness and perimeter defense that this team lacks. Why take a guy just because he is tall when we'd be passing up potential allstars. Look at guys like Paul Pierce and Richard Jefferson -- they slipped into the mid lottery but turned out to be incredible two way players. That's how Granger and Graham will turn out in my opinion. Granger has a higher ceiling but also has injury questions while Grahams floor is probably Bruce Bowen.
With our later picks, it would be absurd to pick a center unless Bynum slips to 30. There are so many guards in this draft who will make an impact so why pick Luke Schencsher just because the guy is over 7 feet. He's a joke and is as soft as they come. Lets go with guys like Luther Head, Badsen, Garcia, Nate Robinson, Daniel Ewing, Julius Hodge, who will make an impact off the bench for us. Look at all the second rounders who have made it in this league -- they're all guards.
So no matter who Isiah picks, how about you wait to call for his resignation. Granger could turn out to be rookie of the year and an all star year in, year out. Frye could turn out to reach his potential and average 14 ppg, 8 rpg, 2bpg. Let's wait to evaluate the draft until we see the results.
And please, for the sake of all of us, get it through your head that just because a guy is over 6'10'', it doesn't mean he will even make an NBA roster, let alone fill our center vacancy.
