Darko days

He may be the reason Larry Brown probably won't be coaching the Pistons next season. Darko Milicic, the 7-foot Serbian center, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. Brown isn't exactly fond of international players and, though active, Milicic has played just 19 minutes in the playoffs and only four scoreless minutes in this series before Game 4.

There has been talk the Pistons will try to include him in some trade package this summer. Milicic, who turns 20 on Monday, has dropped hints about returning to play in Europe after next season, when the Pistons have the option of extending his deal.

"Right now it is about winning and supporting my team," Milicic said. "During the season, all I was waiting for was a chance to get some playing time (he played a total of 254 minutes), 10-to-15 minutes to show people what I can do. I came here to play and enjoy basketball. It's really hard."

"Everyone says be patient, I'll have a long career. . . . If you ask me if it was better to stay in Europe."

They would have to lose total faith in him as a player. With Brown gine he should be able to sneeak into some playing time but how with all the depth in front of him?

I personally think Darko is going to be good if he can gets some PT.....I can't think of a fair way to get him......oh well.

Darko should have stayed in europe in the first place. Detroit's scouting just took a wrong turn somewhere when they first fell in love with Darko. Kid need to be groomed in order to grow as a player. I doubt he will have room to grow with the Knicks after suffering with Detroit with very lack of playing time. Go back to europe kid.

It would be awesome to have Darko and Bynum on the same front line. We could win at least 10 games next season. Maybe 11-12...

It looks like darko is losing faith in the Pistons to give him PT. He is threatening to go back to Europe. Probably the best thing to do. No point in wasting potential room for growth its very obvious as long as Brown is there he isn't going to get true experience. Just add his name to Isiah's wish list. What is it now. Kwame, Curry, Z and Darko. Anyone else out there the Kicks can call on to be their starting center.
