As originally revealed by Hoopsworld.com in April, Jonathan Bender is indeed on his way to Los Angeles along with the 17th pick in the draft. In return, the Lakers will send Devean George, Slava Medvedenko and a second-round pick.

No way they would ever do that deal, they waited for that kid to long to give him and a draft pick away.....

They also have to look into insurance if Artest goes off the deep end, and can do so with that pick

Bender is useless. Including the 17th pick is interesting though.

Lakers are going to have 4 first round picks to mess with,,,,that is a freaking shame...Isiah needs to do all that he can to stock up,,,buy the Memphis pick and buy Utahs picks also...If we have to trade for a couple of them, do it...LA is looking really good right now....especially with Bender and Odoms together on the court...

With that in mind, the Lakers will have the 10th, 17th, 37th and 39th picks in the draft. Assuming one of the second-rounders go to the Pacers, LA will have to decide if they can fill their needs where they stand . . . or make a package to move up. why would they want bender if they have odom and butler? will they be on the trading block? i would trade for either one of them.

Bender is going to be their sf a robert Horry type. Butler is going to be thier pg a Ron Harper so to say. And Odoms is going to be their PF.
