at the q&a with isiah tonight, he said that marbury had some tendinitis in his knee but it turned out to be ok.

WTF?!!?!?

i think he's giving a very PC answer but even if that's the case, tendinitis in a PG that plays physical AND has ankle problem history AND 5 more years at max money are not signs of anything good down the road.

this could turn into something like h20 in another few years...

the fact of the matter is that a lot of star players in the nba are signed to really bad contracts and in a few years, we will see a lot of teams regretting "stealing" a key player by basically outbidding another team. I think we need to wait for the new CBA before judging what to do, because the lockout could alter how trades should go in terms of who we should pursue and when we should go after certain players.

tendinitis can be mild and basically irrelevant or severe and a huge problem or somewhere in between. I wouldn't jump off a bridge just b/c I heard he had tendinitis. He's still playing like a star. Just give him someone like Pau to have in the front court.

tendinitis does bother me at all. Thats from over activity. Few baseball or basketball players have long careers without hitting that bug at some point. It doesnt have to be an issue if he rests during the offseason and we dont play him 50+ a night

Yeah, if it's mild tendinitis, It'll probably go away after a month off. I'd love to see Marbury playing closer to 35 mpg.

isiah did also say his backcourt was set. i don't see how it's set when it's only 2 players. he seriously needs to get another 20 mins/game guard.

if it's mild tendinitis, fine. but it definitely raises some flags with me. i like marbury but damn if we have to go through this h20/dice crap again...

Not even remotely similar. What they had was much worse than tendinitis. Please don't say it's because Marbury is aging. Many players far younger than him have had tendinitis. I'm actually extremely glad to hear that all he has is some tendinitis. That's basically the best possible scenario. It could have been a displaced fracture, a partial or full ligament tear, substantial loss of Cartilage. Those are all things to actually worry about.

If Marbury has a more serious injury, Isiah would never reveal it.

The key to a successful off season is trading him.

maybe hes thinking of this backcourt.

PG-Marbury/Crawford
SG-Ariza/Crawford

he definately sees a lot in ariza, so he may believe ariza will develop his shot.

why trade starbury when zeke has not surrounded steph with hungry players and good coaching.

Exactly. All of this trade steph alarmism. Get him some tools to work with and we'll be fine.

Only good way to trade Marbury if we somebody takes on a lot of our crap, like H20, Mo Taylor, Rose, KT, etc.

Just like the Suns did whent hey dumped Penny on us.

But I don't think anybody will want or can do that. So there is really not realistic scenario to trade Marbury and get what we need.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Note:

Look here fans,,,,,there isn't a player in this league who doesn't have some sort of health issues...The difference between Marb and Houston is the versatility that Marb possess...Houston is just a shooter that never took time to develop his game...However, the same can't be said for Marb...Name me one super-star without a problem with either his knees or ankles??? KG, Iverson, Carter, TMack, Kidd, Shaq, TD, Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, J' Oneal, etc...they all have some sort of issues wrong with them.....

Marb done proved that he is capable of playing with pain, just like the other players that I have mentioned above, but Houston hasn't

Incorrect the key to a real successful offseason is trading Houston. Now that would be a killer offseason.

the premise of this post was based on his HEALTH. has nothing to do with his talent, skill, and patience. if this guy is showing some signs, at his build, and the length of his deal, along with the history of this organization's handling of injured players, there is cause for concern about him.

Let me see,,,,if every organization was to think like the way the many of you do, KG, AI, O'Neal, Shaq, and many others would have been out of town by now....LA made that mistake and chose not to re-sign Shaq and look what happened to them...Marb is a PG, and most of all, he has an all around game...Houston is a one dimensional player, very different than what Marb can provide....

Keep Marb around, surround him with guys that can make his game easier, allow him to fully mature and march this team to the big dance
