If Utah doesn't try to move up to get one of the point guards, the word is that the team likes Spanish power forward Fran Vazquez. If Utah is inclined to move Boozer, the Knicks and one of their expiring contracts are a possibility. The Knicks always are looking for more talent and willing to take the extra years. They also have the No. 8 pick, so they'd have a chance to upgrade as well.

I don't see this happenning since Penny and TT make a lot more than Boozer. BUT....

A trade of Penny, Jamal Crawford and Sweetney for Boozer, Okur, Jarron Collins and and the 27th pick would do it for me.

They can then draft Vazquez with the 5th pick and have a lineup of...
C-Vazquez
PF-Sweetney
SF-AK47
SG-Jamal Crawford
PG-Raul Lopez

Boozer is better than Craw and we'd be getting Okur & the 27th(Bynum, Blatche)!

just the fact that Marbury and Boozer alone would have a lot more chemistry than Marbury & Craw is enough for me!

I'd rather keep Jamal and Sweetney.

Actually, a trade of Tim Thomas for Boozer should work under the cap, but why Utah would do it is beyond me. I don't particularly like Boozer. He's too small to be a really dominant 4.

Yeah, the inclusion of Craw is unnecessary. How about:

Sweets
Penny

for

Booz

we do that, we're stuck over the cap with marbury, boozer and okur unmoveable in our lineup for years and years. they're not worth the money, we can get that frontcourt production without taking on those enormous deals and sacrificing any flexibility. i'll pass. i wasn't sold on those being good signings for the jazz when they were made, definitely don't want them in NY.

If Isiah pulls that trade, I will be right with the fire Isiah crowd. Talk about overrated. Okur was a nice story when he was making near league minimum but now he is extremely overpayed. And no way do I trade for Boozer without him showing me that he is more than just a product of his surroundings. Oh I see you were speaking from a Jazz fan perspective. Oh yeah, if I was a Jazz fan make that trade.

Penny, Jamal Crawford and Sweetney for Boozer, Okur, Jarron Collins and and the 27th pick would do it for me.

uhm, what exactly are we giving up in that deal? a malcontent useless player w/an expiring contract, an erratic young talented PG/SG & an overweight role playing undersized PF...for an allstar calibre PF & two 7 footers this team could desperately use? not to mention the 27th pick with which you might get lucky & get a nice prospect with to boot? yeah, we take on salary...but none of those players are old or past their primes, & you get another 1st round pick & not give up any of our own...& some of you are actually opposed to this trade idea?

i often wonder how often fans of other teams would read a thread like this & laugh their heads off at how much Knick fans overrate their own players...some of your comments would definitely be entertaining reading for those fans.

FYI, Crawford doesn't exactly have a small contract either...you give up a big contract & take back 2, but you also get the far superior talent along w/another pick.

man, Sam Smith sure likes making up crap. Remember his Nowitzki for KG proposal that somehow turned into a rumor? And he always begs for the Bulls to trade for Pierce and somehow THAT becomes a rumor...

I didn't care for this rumor when it first surfaced a couple days ago, but in retrospect, it may be worth a second look. Boozer, though overpaid, would be an upgrade. And if the Knicks are dead set on not taking Bynum at 8, I'd rather them move up to 6th and grab Granger/Green (one of them should definitley be there) then stay at 8 and end up with Frye

http://www.geocities.com/nbarookies/measurements.htm

Boozer
6' 7 3/4" w/o shoes, 6'9 1/2" in shoes. Wingspan 7'2 1/4". Standing reach: 9'1 1/2"

Sweetney
6'7 1/4" w/o, 6'8 in shoes. Wingspan 7'1". Standing reach: 8' 11 1/2"

Weird how boozer gains almost 2 inches in shoes. :) Maybe Sweetney needs some platform shoes.

What I like about Boozer is that he's tough, he's NCAA championship tested (clearly an important accomplishment), he's got great hands, and knows how to get in good position to finish. He's not going to be the next Amare, but he'll be good enough to get around 17/10 year in and year out while playing tough physical defense.

ESPN & all the draft sites have always listed Booz at 6'9" 270 lbs. There's nothing small about that. In shoes, no shoes....however they want to measure him, he is 2 inches bigger than Sweets. Plus, he's a beast at 270 lb.

I wonder if we can end the disagreement by digging up the Chicago measurements from his draft year?

Something tells me you trade Craw, now as an impatient Knick fan, you will be on this board screaming about how the Jazz fleece the Knicks and bad this management makes decisions. To me it is all about coaching. I would like to hear what PJ's decision about the Knicks before I talk about roster moves.

please don't try & analyze what you think my reactions to deals would be unless you've been posting w/me on this board & on the old MSG forums for the past 4 years...i'm not 1 of these overreacting fans who propose trades after a player has 1 bad game.

i measure deals on their own merit...that deal proposed above by NYKBlocker is overwhelmingly in the Knicks' favor...go see what Jazz fans would think about that deal...they'd laugh in your face if you think they'd give up that package for Penny, Sweetney & Craw w/o even giving them any picks in return...sorry.

Boy...if there's one player who isn't a fit for Coach Sloan, its Jamal Crawford.

Boozer measured out at nearly 6-8 in socks so he is a legit 6-9 270. I noticed a lot of those Dukies wearing sneaks that had nearly 2 inch soles. I dont think that stuns NBA people who look at bare feet.

I like Craw, but I se his value as a PG. since we have a 100mm $ man at PG, would I move Crawford in the right deal? Crawford looks great at times, but does anyone really think he plays well if a guy like Bruce Bowen is on him and trying? thats the problem with craw at 2 G, he may look like the second coming one game, but if ytou put a big physical defendre on him and then he has to cover lets say a 6-6 225 pd G on the other end, its a different story. he will always hav a match up problem at 2. now at 1 were talking whole different ball of wax. I think at 1 he has nice length and the knicks could post him up down low instead of him hocking 90 footers.

Thats why in some ways I wish we could get different talents for Marbury and then keep Craw as the 1. But it wont happen
