Is The Matrix On The Block?

RealGM - With the Suns set to sign both Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson to long-term contracts, general manager Bryan Colangelo may be forced to move Shawn Marion.

Marion will average more than $15 million per season over the final four seasons of his contract, which expires after the 2008-2009 campaign.

After coming off a career season, where he became one of the league's leading rebounders, Marion's value is at an all-time high, which might make Colangelo pull the trigger on a deal, which would bring in a player like Samuel Dalembert or Carlos Boozer to give the Suns an improved interior presence.

Dalembert would be perfect for them, but I hope it doesn't happen, i want them to crash and burn!!!!! I knew if Phoenix traded anyone they would trade Matrix, it just makes sense.

We need Samuel much more badly than they do.

Why? They need him for a championship. We need him to become at least friggin' respectable. And if any team besides the Knicks get him, I hope it's the Suns b/c I like them and I'm sick of the Spurs and Lakers and all them.

On a sidenote, if we trade the pick for any player, it would definitely be Dalembert.

you mean they'd rather have Dalembert than the extremely valuable expiring deals of Penny Hardaway or Tim Thomas? no freakin' way.

Philly needs to decide if it is a half court team or a running team. With Iverson and Iguodala, Martix would be a great running mate, but with Webber and someone like Marc Jackson at the 4 & 5, that's tough. Philly is getting into the Knicks' cap range if they add Matrix too.

And for the record, as much as I like Marion, I was very dissapointed in him for his playoff performance, particularly against Dallas and SA. He didn't assert himself at all. Dalembert, on the other hand, played great in the first round. He's still very very raw on the offensive end, but he'll be a star.

either dalembert or boozer would be a great move for the suns. i'm a fan of marion, but he is relatively interchangeable with joe johnson and quentin richardson on O, either of those bigs would replace his rebounding and give amare some much needed backup up front. utah would be sick with AK47 and matrix at the 3 & 4, philly would have to make some other moves but marion is a top flite, versatile SF, i would love to see him back at his natural position anyway.

They're already in our range as far as salary goes- unless they dump webber & Dalembert for Marion and filler (hunter?), not sure how they can do that deal
