From Hoopshype:

Gerald Green was supposed to come in for a workout but Green has said he will only work out for them if he is alone and not going head to head with anyone else. Nash in response has told him to not bother if that's the case. Nash believes Green should be up to the challenge.

now at the last second these HS kids are tumbling? Guess the Knicks could possibly have their opportunity to take Green if they desire.

Still, no matter what, we get so Fd by losing position 7 for nOTHINg. Unless we take frye, we are at the mercy of Toronto--whoever the pick might be.

I don't think 7 vs. 8 makes much difference. I think that's been overrated on this site.

Luol Deng, Hinrich, Nene, Eddie Griffin, Chris Mihm, Rip Hamilton, Jason Williams, Tim Thomas , Lorenzen Wright, Damon Stoudamire.

Those are your last 10 picks at 7. There are some pretty good players that were off the board if your picking 8.

Andre Iguodala, Mike Sweetney, Amare stoudemire, Rodney white, Pryzbilla, shawn marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Tracy mcgrady, samaki walker, ed obannon

Those are your last 10 picks at 9. There are some pretty good players that were on the board if you are picking 8.

Maybe we should have won more games.

I'm just saying.

....and to be 2005 specific, I think the best value (draft slot vs. production) will be in the 8-20 range (Granger for sure, maybe Warrick, Graham, Wright, Diogu). I would personally take any of those guys over Frye & Vasquez (guys who will go earlier). There's obviously a premium on guys 6'9" + so lesser players go higher than they should. For example, how the hell did Richard Jefferson slip as far as he did??? Yet, Chris Mihm goes at 4.

What's the deal with those young HS players today??? here is a dude who has yet to prove anything in his basketball career, but still has the nerves to be demanding ****...Is this what the NBA is down to now???? Teams around the league needs to start setting examples to those wet behind the ears youngins....Don't draft him in the first round, let him go to the second round....

This is so true, but it is mainly because the expectations aren't as high for a pick in this range and the talent that you get back could be really high.

I agree, I would love to have 2 picks between 8 and 25.

That makes three of us. It does make a tiny difference if you're picking 7 or 8, but it's a bit crazy to say that we got totally f'd by picking 8 instead of 7.

lol you guys are funny. Who needs options? Sometimes there are 5 good players yoy like. Othertimes there are 7. Saying it doesnt matter is stupid.

Lets say there are 6 cookies and 6 kids. You pick 5th. Sure.. no matter what happens there will still be 2 cookies to choose from and after all a cookie *is* a cookie.

Too bad after choc chip, Oreo, Vanilla Wafer and NutterButter are taken your left with crumpets and low-fat oatmeal. Hey... a cookie is a cookie right?

Fish, what the hell are you talking about???? In a cookie jar, there is no such thing as 5 different positions...in basketball, you need a PG, SG, SF, PF, AND a CENTER...that analogy that you have made, makes no sense at all. I agree that a cookie is a cookie, but you are talking about apple and oranges here..

To me that is not much of a shocker. It was no secret that Nash liked Wright more than Green. I am sure Green's people knew this and figure that is who he would be going head to head against. So now Nash has the excuse to his fans and can select the guy he really wants, Wright.
