someone tell me this isnt true because the source of this information is highly credible and has been a Knicks season holdeer[and a highly highly connected 1] who told me this about a half hour ago. Anyone else hear this?

sigh. well, it's a good thing he played 48 minutes every game down the stretch. if this is true, they might as well take Bynum.

On a sidenote, if this did happen, the Knicks are freaking screwed in every way possible. Nobody will want to trade for him b/c of his contract. But I guess we shouldn't feel sorry for them, b/c we pretty much pounded him to the floor till the death this season. Good job Knicks once again. Way to treat Ewing, Camby, McDyess, Houston and now Marbury ever so proudly. Dang man, that's a championship team right there when healthy, but we of course, b/c we are the Knicks, we are galaxies away.

im e-mailing the knicks to triple check this[but in do believe it right now] i know they have the media wrapped around their fingers but how could they not report on something like this? if this is indeed true, even J kidd took more than part of the season to comeback

i doubt they say anything, but let me give it a shot

Well a very reliable and influential source, that was one of the first memebers of the Knicks fan club, told me that that Allan Houston had an extremely rare and experimental knee transpant. The donor was a freakishly athletic high schooler. The surgery was a success and his doctors expect this operation to extend his carreer into his late 40's. So I guess it all evens out.

Ever see the South Park episode where Kyle wanted to be black so he could play basketball and his knees exploded from jumping because they were...well, for those who saw it, you know what I am talking about.

I tend not to place much importance in this type of posts by Briggs. If I see something credible (at least give me a link), I'll believe it and it would be a very bad scenario for the Knicks.

No no, that's my knee he has now. His career should be restored now.

to me, this is the most significant piece of new by a mile. i know that knick beat writeres read this message boards. have the knicks said do not print anything like this or you wil have no more scoops, or are the knick beatwriters outside looking in--which i doubt!

" a source close to the rumor indicated and insinuated a suggestion that a scowling tatted bald man not quite as handsome as Sam was seen leaving a hospital"....

Microfracture usually is a last resort. I don't think Steph's Knee is that bad.

They wouldn't listen to that. There's really no way to hide a microfracture surgery. If he did have the surgery, he'll either miss a good portion of the next season or he'll be playing at around 50% effectivness if he starts the season on the active roster. Either way, it would be blatant that something is wrong and there would be huge questions. With that in mind, I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to even try to hide a microfracture knee surgery.

Knicks may be delaying but not hiding the announcement surgery. It is early in the offseason and there may be a lockout - best time to do a surgery. Of course, this whole thing could be misleading.

Anyway, I have sent out emails to our contacts... we'll see what we can dig up.

If he had MF surgery on his knee though, the Knicks better not get stupid like they did with Houston, and give him 35 minutes a game starting the season, or else it's only going to get worse and worse. Jason Kidd clearly lost a couple of steps, but he's back to being an all star, b/c the Nets took it very slow and cautiously with him, and still are. They were very smart and they didn't even care about losing. It was the complete opposite with Houston's case. Now look at him. Time for the Knicks to treat this a different way, if ge did indeed have microfracture knee surgery.

If this idea of Briggs actually happened, I'd assume Houston (and maybe Penny) will talk to Marbury to try to get him to learn from his mistakes.
