I have to say Bynum tops the centers list. Frye is coming up shorter than I thought. He is only 6'10'' if at that. I don't want any 6'10'' center I need a legit 7'+.

Travis Diener is my first choice at 54, but I don't know if he will be there. There are a few Euros we should look at with the 54 pick, because its not likely we can keep 3 rookies on the roster next year. Get a guy and let him play there....maybe he turns into a Ginobli..

Jay Williams I just saw a special on him on news 12 new jersey and he says he's made great progress and is running already and will be ready for camp. They said the Knicks, Phoenix and Minnesota have shown interest. He admitted he isn't as quick and he's not going to be dunking on Yao, if you remember he was a pretty explosive dunker for his size. But I think he can be the type of mature/leaderfrom a great college program at Duke that we could use at PG. I guarantee Isiah trys to get him. I will be thrilled!

Where is Frye 6'10"? Dude is 6'9" 3/4 in socks, 6'11" in sneakers. You know, all the players heights are in sneakers. That means Duncan is 6'10" in socks, Nazr is close to 6'8" in socks and Barkley is 6'3"! Frye obviously has holes in his game, but his height is not one of them. yes I'd still want him! He can score inside and outside, block shots and rebound and would be a top 3 pick had he just gone to college for a few years

just because we saw Frye play doesn't mean he is better player. maybe a safer pick initially but the payoff with Bynum will be much greater imo. If Isiah doesn't think so then take the best player available which isn't Loren Woods ooops I mean Kurt Thomas oh man I mean Channing Frye

man, you guys are funny. somehow, despite outplaying Andrew Bogut and stepping up HUGE in the NCAA tournie two years in a row, playing for a major school in a tough conference - same conf. as Ariza.... you still want this kid, who was so fat he couldn't play a full season of HIGH school basketball:

keep in mind that Bynum is only 17 and his body still has a lot of maturing to do but he already is pretty massive

The fact that people want Channing Frye at 8 makes me think that YOU are the ones that never seen him play. Channing is not worth the 8th pick in this draft and he will NEVER play to that potential. Is there a reason that Arizona has NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER produced a bigman into the NBA? They've had a few guys that are the same exact bodytype and collegiate career as Channing and they don't cut it in the pros, I know you can't base it all on that but to me thats worth something. I don't want to hear about his character, who cares. Character doesn't win you games in the NBA and neither does having 6'10 centers who have rail thin bodies. I really just don't get it.

Briggs, that workout was a joke. No Eric Williams, shooting jumpers with an AAU coach guarding him. Come on. You can come at me with he's a number one recruit in the nation, but that's only if you don't count Gerald Green. Charlie Villanueva comes to mind as a big Uconn guy who came in highly touted (#2 in the nation in 2003), but never developed much in school.

There's no way you can forecast his work ethic, the determination it takes to be an nba all-star. You have no real background. And frankly, it frightens me that this kid would so quickly throw away Jim Calhoun's guidance and the best program in the country. This kid is no Amare or Dwight Howard fully developed man-child, he's a huge kid with no idea how to play NBA basketball, or even college basketball. It's a man's league. And frankly, I'm curious how explosive is with an injured knee and coming off of what looks like 50 lbs of weight loss in two months. What seperates him from Jerome James? Who is to say the weight doesn't come back during the inevitable lockout, when it will be ILLEGAL for the Knicks to contact him? Who is to say the knee problem doesn't come back?

As for the Frye pictures, it looks like he was getting fouled in one shot and the second shot looks like the play is just being setup. My thing with Frye is, I've seen what he can do, I've seen him step up and we know Zeke has come away impressed with both his game (private West Coast workout) and his personal makeup. What do we know about Bynum's makeup? That he's willing to turn down a free ride on the number one team in the country because his brother wants money? Sounds like a major red flag. The weight thing and the knee thing only add to it.

That's definitely a great post. I don't know enough about Frye or Bynum to know who I'd prefer, but I would say that ultimateknicks.com is the only and only page I can find on the entire internet with people thinking Bynum is worthy of a top 15 pick. (It really just started with one poster here.)

By year 2, hes going to be able to take guys the size of Channing frye and push them right into the basket. Hll I want to see what he can do in year 1. Give him 10 minutes a game, clog up the lane and go to the basket. One of the best assets of bynum is big huge hands and is able to snatch everything. The ability to catch and finish--he can already do it, along with 2-3 nice post moves.
Heck, on the D 7-1 275 wingspan 7-6 and still growing, he could be a force by just being out there-who can move him?

even more so than his thin body, which in all fairness seems to have gotten stronger, is the fact that he admitted himself that he is a jumpshooter. What the hell are we going to do with another jumpshooting bigman! How could of a jumpshooter will he be in the nba? Will he be better than Nesterovic? If we had a dominant PF in place it would make a little more sense..still wouldn't make sense to take him as high as 8 over the BPA, but at least you would have 2 bigs who compliment each other but we have SKurt Thomas!
