Thinking about going to the draft this year since the Knicks have 3 picks. Anyone ever go before? What's the ticket situation like (ie how early do you have to get there, cost, etc.) and how's the overall experience.

Maybe there can be some kind of ultimateknicks get together at the draft his year.

I think it's cheap, like $8, but there's only like 500 first come first serve tix on the day of the draft. I thought about going before, but never made it...

If people go... PLEASE DON'T start a "fire Isiah" chant... well, unless you need to...

I would only do it if we drafted Channing Frye or an undersized PF at 8.

Draft usually starts at around 8, 8:30 right? I wonder if getting there a couple hours before would be sufficient.

I went two years ago when we had 3 picks. When we got Sweetney and picked up that European seven footer. It was pretty exciting i would say go except they skyrocketed the price as of last year which i why i never went again. MY opinion if the price is good purchase the tickets online or else you will have to wait in line the day off and the line was extremely long when i went.

I looked on ticketmaster and they are selling tickets to the draft as part of some sort of American Express Gold Card event. Tickets are a steep 100 bucks, but you get to meet John Starks, Kenny Smith, Dwayne Wade and some others, go to some pre draft party, and get a gift bag. Sorta cool, but not really worth all that money.

I went to the Nene draft it was $15. IMO its better to stay at home, order a pie and watch it with the actual TV commentary and graphics and geta better sense of whats going down

I used to go in the 80's. It was free back then. The last year I went there was nearly a riot trying to jam in - they wisely went to tickets soon after.

That said, I can tell you that it was an absolute blast going. You get all sorts of in-house videos and running off-camera commentary from the announcers. The energy level is amazingly high, especially when the Knicks are picking early and often. It's a trip getting to watch all these kids that you've been reading about and talking about for months. And of course the fashion show is a hoot.

I would highly recommend it.

I'll go. I have never ever gone to a draft and if anyone else is going, we can all hang there, and boo or cheer whichever pick the Knicks get. Oh, and CHEER for Andrew Bogut of course when called as first pick by Milwaukee so he knows we wanted him, heh. Not a bad idea.

Its worth it if you get Wade to sign a basketball and then sell the ball for like $500
