RealGM put up a new mock, I figured I'd mention it on here incase everyone was interested. Nothing too surprising except for the fact that they don't even have Bynum listed in the 1st Round, do they know something we don't know or are they just stupid? And how the mighty have fallen, they list Taft going #22 on here, what a pathetic decline for this guy, I can't believe I was his biggest supporter.

"8.) New York Knicks : Fran Vasquez, PF, Unicaja Malaga,
22 yrs. old

Conventional wisdom says the Knicks will draft for more size here. The main reason Petro slipped, even though I think he still could be drafted here, is that New York wants to win now, not in 3 years. Now, now, now. Tiago Splitter could be an option here because he would bring some much-needed interior defense and shot blocking ability. The only problem is his buyout. If he doesn’t get a guarantee that he’s a lottery pick, which he is, then he’ll pull out of the draft. Because of the questionable position of Splitter, Isiah goes for a sure thing and drafts Vasquez. Yes, another power forward. Except this one has something the others don’t: size and youth. He stands just an inch taller than current starting center Kurt Thomas, but he has the size to get playing time with the Knicks immediately. Power forward Michael Sweetney showed that he could play, including scoring 18 of his 19 points in the first quarter against Golden State in the regular season, but he was too foul prone to be depended on. As far as Vasquez goes, his stock has only risen with three consecutive double-doubles to lead Unicaja Malaga past Etosa Alicante 3-2 after being down 2-0 at the beginning of the series. His team is currently playing Splitter’s team in the Spanish League Semifinals. Neither had a great game 3, but both are instrumental to their team’s success.
Right now, New York and Vasquez make the most sense since Splitter’s decision is still in the air. If he says within the next couple days that he’s staying, he’d go here. But since it’s a question, Isiah and co.
don’t take the chance and take Vasquez. "

According to Draft City, Splitter SCHOOLED Fran in Game 3 of the Finals. Aren't RealGm and Draftcity connected? How don't they know this? I don't like Fran. He strikes me as Dale Davis-light, and he's not even as big as Dale. I'd much rather take Frye or take a gamble on Bynum if we're intent on going big. Splitter is intriguing because his defense is so good, but his buy-out issues and lack of any offensive prowess make me think he'll wait a year.

Also, I think Taft is going to be better than all this negative hype suggests. What's the difference between him and Wilcox? Nothing. You get him on a good weight training regimen and he'll be an explosive backup. I don't think he has the desire to be a top-level starter, but neither does Wilcox. Still a valuable player. But, obviously, the Knicks need more than a valuable backup PF/C out of the 8th pick. I would snatch Taft in a second if he somehow fell to 30.

Their mocks are about as good as mine or anybody else in this forum. They base their mocks on what they think a team will do. Not inside information. It is pretty poor quality but hey you get what you pay for.

Not really interested in Vazquez...would take Splitter or Petro over Vazquez. Their comment about neither Splitter or Vazquez having a good game 3 is actually wrong...Splitter had 14 pts and 4 blocks.

Not many mock drafts have him higher than the 20s and posters on other message boards don't rank him much higher either. It's just Briggs has hyped up his value on this board to a crazy degree

No doubt about Taft, I hope he keeps up the bad workouts and drop to 30. If we take a center in the form of Bynum/Fyre and pick up Taft too. That is a nice draft.

Now THAT would be nice if Taft fell to 30. I agree with a Crzy, I think Taft is still going to be a pretty good player in this league but if he can't even get enhance himself to be in the lotto of the draft and make a higher salary then how is going to enhance himself ever? He still has the talent to be a pretty solid player though.

Bonn, I know Briggs has really been a avid Bynum supporter and he has hyped him ALOT but I honestly think theres reason for it. When you have a 7'1 285 pound 18 year old kid who has shown true center skills then you have to be a little bit happy. I'm just surprised RealGM hasn't even put him in the 1st round or even the 1st round Honorable Mentions.

If they can get Brynum with the 30 i think this team has some serious potential down the road, with a couple of good young talents to possibly attract a star to the garden

Well, I know the Atlanta Hawks might be going for Bynum, and I know the Lakers were after him too. He's known to be a hard worker, he's skilled, athletic and apparently plays with a chip on his shoulder. I think Briggs has good reason for having a strong desire for the Knicks to draft him. Tell me Bonn, who do you want to draft?

Actually, realgm doesn't have him in their mock draft because they are not sure if he will be in the draft to begin with. They addressed this in their last mock draft or the first one I believe.
