Is there really a curse on Marbury? I totally doubt it. Give him help. ASAP

Coach: Herb Williams

Record: 33-49

Starting lineup:

PG- Stephon Marbury

SG- Jamal Crawford

SF- Tim Thomas

PF- Mike Sweetney

C- Kurt Thomas

The Needs: Where to start with the Knicks? They have been having problems for the last 7 years now. If it wasn’t for Stephon Marbury the team would not have won anywhere close to 33 games as he leads the team in scoring and was 4th in the league with assists. Jamal Crawford is very inconsistent as is Tim Thomas. Kurt Thomas is a great player on both ends of the court but playing him at starting center is a huge problem they will have to fix. Going into the draft they are going to need a power forward who has size and bulkiness that can crash the boards and can horse players around. Mike Sweetney is a tough player but is still young and under sized. The fact that is still very annoying is that Herb Williams had a 7’2” center sitting on the bench that got no playing time over under sized power forwards at the center slot. Bruno Sundov is big, tough, and knows how to play at both ends of the court. Why Herb Williams didn’t play him still baffles the best of the Knick fans.

The No Needs: Point guard is a position that is locked in New York. Marbury said in an interview with a NY paper that he is the best point guard in the league, and guess what, I agree. He can run, shoot, steal, pass and play defense with the best of them. Without Marbury this team is nothing. He has the heart and dedication the team lost when Patrick Ewing, John Starks and Charles Oakley were all traded. And that is what New York needs.

Offense: (Out of 10 stars) 6. They can shoot, but they shoot way to much.

Defense: 6. The rating is this high thanks to Malik Rose and Jerome Williams. The energy these guys throw at the defensive end is amazing.

Coaching: 2. Where was Sundov when you needed size Herb?
This Bruno love is puzzling to me. Is that what Knick fans are clamoring for? More Bruno? Maybe the fans who go to the games and dont have a clue about basketball. And where is he getting this Bruno is tough on both ends of the floor stuff from?

You have to deduct points from them for that.

seriously, this guy sounds like a clueless poster on any fansite you go to...Bruno Sundov...that's pretty funny.

That article is bizarre. No one here EVER wants to see Bruno play. He's awful. He's big, but he likes to drift outside and shoot threes. Asking for Jackie Butler would've been more accurate.

I don't think Herb is a bad coach. He's a solid IN-game coach, the only knock here was that he kept trying to win at the end of the season, rather than tank for a pick.

Also, giving this team a 6 out of 10 for defense? I would barely give this team a 6 out of 100. That's the main problem.

Tough to play good defense when you're team can't shoot... and you have no shot blockers nor rebounders... and all of your big men are 6'8 or smaller.
