for all the wheeling and dealing
for all the money spent
and what would have to be termed a disappointment so far,

isiah has done ALOT of scouting and really needs to acquire
ANOTHER #1 in this draft.

i don't care if he has to trade kurt for a pick straight up,
pay $3 mil for it, or package up our #2 with $$$, he needs to
use knick resources and get another first rounder.

hey... I'm not the only one. I think most of the people that have heavily followed this draft have noticed one thing, its deep.

Personally, I dont think this draft has many if any stars in it. I think Felton, Green, Granger and Marvin are potential stars. I think Bogut will be a good player, but I'm not sold on great. Something like Brad Miller. Good and tough, but not a star per say (I would still take him #1, love Miller's game).

But there are close to 30 guys that you could see stepping in and become quality NBA starters in a year or so, and many will be late first round.

THATS something we desperatly need, along with a style of play.

i would love to flat out replace a bunch of our vets we've accumulated as cap fodder with hungry young players we've really scouted and want on our roster. KT straight up for a pick? sign me up, it's time to change things up for all he's done. buyout penny, TT, some of our PFs to open up roster spots for picks? sure. we have the vets to spare.

I am a 100% convinced that Isiah will acquire another 1st round pick before it is all said and done with....He may have to accept another bad contract, but it will happen...By the way, what is this I am reading about Pierce, Is it true that he will be traded to Portland..???

you have to have balance. Hungry young players need leadership. Young guys can learn a lot from watching KT, JYD and Malik Rose and how they approach the game. I would like one extra mid first rounder. The Memphis pick at 19 is an option. Taking back Jalen Rose and pick 16 also has great appeal to me.

I have said a few times NO WAY does Toronto turn down that deal. It allows them max cap space next offseason before they have to extend Bosh. Not to mention it saves them $17mm in a player thats not in their future plans. If you can do that you can REALLY build up your frontcourt for the next 2 years.

scenario a
pick 8 Bynam
pick 16 Blatche
pick 30 Hodge
pick 54 BPA

scenario b
pick 8 Bynam
pick 16 Warrick
pick 30 Robinson
pick 54 BPA

a) you really go for a pipeline and building your frontcourt with SIZE. b) your adding 2 guys that really thrive in an uptempo game.

Jalen Rose can help you because he can play 1,2,3 and is a tough competitor. His deal would come off in 2 years just like Mo T, JYD, Houston and Shandon.

I think thats a fair mix of veteran players with a big pipeline.

I don't know but if we're helping toronto save that kind of dough, I'd like a little more than just pick 16.

perhaps 16 & a switch of 8 for 7.

you were also 100% convinced that Lenny just needed a training camp, and that Tim Thomas should be our PF and that Herb would fix all the problems and that Marbury would become a true leader.

Fish, now we are keeping KT and sending Marbury off in a trade. If I am trading Marbury, you bet I am trading KT too. You don't want to turn NY into Chicago east where FAs say no thanks, I seen what you did to Marbury, and I rather go _________. I would see what Atlanta would be willing to give up for him and believe they want him. You will take back a load of crap but most likely Al Harrington would be included in the deal. I doubt they give up this year's pick though. Just future picks and their crap (Delk, Drobjak (I know i am butchering his name), and Gugs)). I doubt anyone will give up this year's pick with the CBA not in place for next season. Quite possible that the draft will really suck for the next couple of years.

the first thing I posted after we picked up the 2 1st rounder for Nazr was that we needed to package them along with Kurt, sweetney or TT in order to move up to a mid 1st round pick in the 15-23 range. It would be brilliant. I wonder if Isiah is even considering it.

For the longest time I've been talking about drafting a top notch bigman and a top-notch SG. That would turn this franchise around in a second. Add them to Marbury, ariza, crawford(6th man), butler and we'll have something special brewing
