His performance will vacillate from "dominant" to "non-existent," sometimes within the same game. But his promise far outweighs any consistency issues. He's an outstanding young athlete with remarkable shot-blocking skills. Sixers GM Billy King is a big Dalembert fan, unlike former head coach Jim O'Brien. Dalembert's future in a Sixer uniform will depend on whether King and new Sixer coach Mo Cheeks see eye to eye on his contract. If not, dozens of other teams will happily pencil in Dalembert as their starting center, including the Sonics, Cavs (depending on Big Z's future), Hawks, and the Knicks (in a sign-and-trade).

If we could get him, I would feel better about this draft. We could more easily draft the BPA and be a better team.

Question for everyone, would you rather select Bynum at #8 or use that pick on a SF or guard and do a sign and trade for Dalembert?

dalembert is worth a lottery pick.

this guy could be THE shot blocker of the next decade. i think almost every team in the lottery would trade their pick for dalembert right now.

and if bynum is gone, i would trade the pick for him as well.

And if Bynum is the next Shaq or Duncan (as Briggs is asserting), then Dalembert isn't worth a lottery pick.

Dalembert is a great, somewhat one dimensional player. I would rather have the next Wade or McGrady (Green) over Dalembert

I would bit on that... I would have to say I would have no problem trading the #8 in a sign and trade for Sam. I would say by trading Naz most of our good sign and trade options are out the door.

Our best offer would probably be something like TT + #8 for Kevin Ollie and Sam D in a sign and trade. Phili gets a lottery pick, expiring deal and dumps Ollie's contract. We get a backup PG (overpriced, of course) and a center.

I prefer option #2.

If we have Dalembert and draft Joey Grahm, I think that puts us in a good position to make a run in 2-3 years with a few more moves and Ariza, Sweets, and Craw developing.

Drafting Bynum, does nothing now, and we will all be praying that he develops into the player we believe he can be.

Yeah but its about hedging your bets. These kids in the draft could never pan out. Daly has panned to some extent and should improve. Even at what he is now, he fits our needs very much. We already have a million pf's who can score so I think he would be great for us.

We would ALL rather have the next Wade, Shaq, or Duncan, but the chances are those guys are not in this draft.

Dalembert has put together more than just flashes of brilliance. If Green is taken, I'd be more than happy to ship the #8 pick for him.

An NBA-proven shot-blocker, rebounder... and perhaps the most athletic big-man in the east. Schweet. Dalembert can beat any of the plodding centers from end to end. We've seen him tear apart the Knicks in the past... what's there not to like? :)

Bynum looks like a plodder to me... though I'll reserve judgment until we get more pre-draft reports about him. The only thing going for him is that UCONN thinks he has potential... and they've been right about a lot of things lately.

UCONN does say alot, but if we could get Dalembert, he is proven already and still has upside, it just makes good sense, why take a chance a ? when you can get something and know what you're getting?

I'd be happy if we used the mid level exception on any of the following three -

Dalembert - 24.8 mpg - 8.2 ppg - 7.5 rpg - 1.7 bpg
Gadzuric - 22 mpg - 7.3 ppg - 8.3 rpg - 1.3 bpg
Hunter - 13.8 mpg - 4.6 ppg - 3 rpg - 1.34 bpg
