Shawn James from Northeastern and Deng Gai from Fairfield.


A little ball handling?

Deng Gai is a senior, 6'9" 250lbs and seems to have been blocking shots like that his whole career. He seems to have decent college 3 pt range too. Anybody seen this guy play?

Shawn James is a little different because his team made the NIT Tourney. He was defensive player and freshman of the year last year for his conference....and the dude is 6'9" 195lbs?!?!? I found some picks of him but they are playground touney pics.

Never seen either play but I would think Deng Gai is at least on the bubble because he is a senior.

5 blks per at the division 1 level is very impressive no matter where they are. It shows they are hungry to protect the basket.

Anybody heard of these guys?

I am pretty familiar with Deng, my friend played on that team and has been raving about this kid for years saying he thinks the knicks should take him

He is extremely agile long, and has good range, and blocks everything near the basket, he would have went to a bigger program but i believe there was a big language gap there

Although i am not a huge fan a think another person the knicks should take a look at with Deng is Carl Kruser from Pitt, through him in for 10 min a game would improve the d, with these two kids and cost the knicks about 1.5 for the two of them......

i watched Shawn James like 6-7 times this year because I get a lot of the nE games in one of my cable subscriptions. he looks like a spider, hes actually a 21 YO frshemen due to academics. he is feline quick unbelievably quick with just about the longest arms I have ever seen. I think they list him at 6-10 190 and really he might look skinnier. I used to watch for Jose Barrea, but he by far was the fun guy to watch on that team. I met Deng Gai in KFC last year. Ive seen him several times over the years but I didnt see any Fairfield games this year. He probably wont get drafted. he still needs quite a bit of work, but I would not be surprised to see him in the nBA in 2-3 years

Deng Gai is Luol Deng's cousin.....that's interesting.

I would love to invite him to camp. His name is nowhere to be found on anyone's mock 1st or 2nd round. He could be a big time sleeper. Ben Wallace type.

Carl Krauser is from Brooklyn you know? I love the guy. He should wait till next year though. He has like 4 other high profile point guards coming out ahead of him. His handle is awesome by the way. He could do AND 1 with no problem.

WOW! Now that guy is long! We should put him on our summer league team and sin him to a couple of 10 day contracts. He looks like he could be Camby part 2!!!!
