According to today's Daily News article...Spike Lee will be representing the Knicks in the lottery drawing.

Given that ex-Knick coach Stu Jackson who left the Knicks under the not the best of circumstances is now the Director of Operations for the NBA, I have a bad feeling about the Knicks chances in the draft.

Spike Lee representing the Knicks is absurd. Absolutely absurd. He's a fan, not even one becuase the two games I was at this year when the Knicks were thousands of games under .500, he wasn't there. If he is I'm writing a letter of protest, either a new rep or all of the season ticket holders.

Come on BigSmooth, give Spike a break. If he wasn't there then it is likely that he was too busy to go to that game. The guy has been a Knick fan through the good and the bad. I personally like the idea of putting the most well known Knick fan there.

Why not me or you then? This is just a stupid move. Put Dolan, or Chaney, or Layden up there. Don't put a freaking fan up there. And yeah, I've been hard on Spike because he is portrayed as the fan to end all fans when he really just goes to the games to watch some decent basketball and be seen. Put someone associated with the organization, whose job it is to make sure that things run smoothly, not a fan who goes to games.

Dolan, LayDUMB, and Chaney are NOT true Knicks. Spike on the other hand, bleeds orange and blue just like you and me. He is the most recognizable Knick fan on the planet. I would rather see a fan up there than one of those idiots in our management. Hell, I would rather have Spike running the Knicks than Laydumb, I garantee he would do twice the job. Besides, LayDUMB is a friggin jinx. I don't believe that he shows up just for the attention, the guy shows up because he loves the Knicks. He has been showing up this year even though we sucked. He is a true fan, no doubt about it imo. Besides, we'll need Spike's acting skills for when Stern fixes the lottery for us, j/k.

the only reason I could come up with for spike being there is because he's the better actor then layden, chaney and dolan. So when they anounce that the knicks get the #1 pick he can pretend he's really excited

maybe the knicks wanta get spike more involved with the team because they feel that he was fading away. If spike starts to lose faith, all knick fans will know about it and some will probably follow. Long shot but maybe?

Spike is on way too high of a pedestal. Can anyone even confirm he's the representative. Layden maybe an idiot, but it is his JOB to make sure things go right. I watched all 82 games this year, does that make me or any of us less of a fan then Spike. Sure, he "personifies" a Knick fan, but I don't see other fans up there. Chaney, Layden, or maybe Dolan since he puts so much money into this damn team.
