Sunday night I was eating at the Applebees in stone mt, Ga with my family and some friends.. Our server was this kid, I mean he was tall, my son noticed right away. we asked the kid how tall was he, he said 6'10, I asked him did he ball, he said yes, for stephenson HS here in GA. He then went on to say he is going to GA tech to play ball for coach Hewitt... As soon as I got home I went to the internet and looked this kid up, I found him, his name is Alade Aminu( I think the first name is alade) anyway his family must be african because he was listed on this site for african ballers here in the US.. I also saw where he was ranked 57 out of the top 120 plus HS players in the country.. Not bad for a 17 year old 6'10 kid.. I am going to keep my eyes on him, he will be playing for a good coach in the ACC, and he is a legit 6'10, who knows ina couple of years......

so basically you don't know anything about this guy other than the fact that he is tall.

and he bussed your table at applebee's

no, I mentioned that he is ranked 57 in the country, did you not get that? anyway the HIS HS won the division championship, he is a pretty athletic kid runs the floor well and is a above average athlete... He was highly recruited by GA tech so that says a lot.....

Not a bad find. Figure he'll grow another inch or 2, and 57 in the country right now. Should be interesting to see if BRIGGS has heard about him.

i apologize. i failed to see where he was ranked 57th.

you are correct...the fact that he was being highly recruited by Ga Tech says alot

thats OK, this kid plays in Gwinnett county, now for those who don't live in ga, that may not mean anything to you, but Gwinette county is a very competitve HS basketball county, tony Aiken, the former GA tech PG was a standout in gwinette. Anyway this kid dominated pretty much in that division, I forgot his stats but it was impressive, He should get a lot of burn at tech since that team did not have a guy 6'10 outside of luke schensure, He was ranked 57 in the country and to me that is not bad, I remeber looking at the HS ranking some years ago and you would find guys like Josh Boone not even in the top 10, so go figure. He averaged 18/14/4, that is not bad, on the internet they have him listed at 6'9, but he told me himself he is 6'10, he sure looked it to me. My friends son is 6'4 and this kid towerd over him big time...


here is some info off the GA tech blog.. some interesting notes, I didn't know he was only 16 either and a track star.. wow...

8/28 - Has a great visit w/Lewis Clinch. Chose GT over Tenn, Miami (offers), but also was being recruited by UGAg, Texas, Illinois, St.Johns, Cincy, Clemson, Bama and others. This is a guy who was not on the national radar when he committed to GT. Wants to major in architecture so liked GT's combination of academics / athletics. He is on the same AAU squad as L.Williams and M.Mercer and B.Humphrey, so needless to say he doesn't get the ball or recognition that much. However, he did play strong over the summer and moved up strong on the insiders.com ranking board. He has only been playing organized ball for 2 years and is only 16 years old. At Stephenson High School (Reggie Ball's hs) he averaged 18 pts, 14 boards, 4 blocks and 4 steals as a junior. He is also a track star, excelling at the triple jump, so you know he has hops.
