Sorry... but it would be foolish not to consider the PFs of this draft class.

I dont see how we can afford to let a potential Elton Brand or (pre-injury) Antonio McDyess slip away just because we have 30 PFs that arent that good anyway.

Draftcity is reporting 2 things that HAVE to change how we look at these players.
Wayne Simien is 6'9 and may be 6'10
Ike Diogu has a wingspan between 7'4 and 7'6

The hardest part about this is it takes away our leverage when it comes to dealing guys like JYD, KT, Sweetney or any of the others. On top of this Seattle did win 50 plus with Fortson, Evans and Collison playing the majority of minutes at the 4/5. Jerome James had a good playoff series.

My only point here is despite our boat load of veteran players and forwards there may be some franchise caliber players that are natural 4s.

I like simien, but he doesn't look 6'9 or 6'10.. I agree somewhat, but we need to explore seriously some of these bigs. If somehow we get blatche and simien works out better than splitter and the other bigs, I say lets take a run at him, we could always move sweetney or Kt, and divide the rest of the time between rose, jyd and mo taylor.. I do think that having so many vets on the team will chew into the playing time of the young guys. something I fear...

the only players i'm really excited about are the PF's actually (other than Greene of course)...we have no shot at Bogut & who knows what you're going to get from Bynum.

i wouldn't complain 1 bit if Isiah took Wayne Simien w/a late 1st round pick...from all accounts he's exactly the type of angry, throw it down in your face type player i've been coveting all along.

what about at 8? What if Ike is 6'8 but has a bigger than Ben Wallace 7'6 wingspan? What if Simien is 6'10 in sneakers?

Whats your reaction on draft day when Isiah says "While I understand we have a forward heavy roster, there was talent in this draft simply too good to pass up because of other needs. I drafted Ike Diogu because I thought he will be a special player in this league."

I cant argue with that... especially considering Isiah's strong draft history. I will bitch and moan if he doesnt balance the roster, but I'm going to do that anyway :)

I definitely want to take the BPA. The roster should be balanced in Free Agency and through trades, not at the draft when the future of the franchise is on the line.

If the best player Zeke has seen is a PF and he's there at 8, you take him. Lord knows we need a stud PF as much as we need a stud C, a stuf SF and a backup SG.

you mean a Stud starting SG. We already have a backup in Crawford

I don't really want a PF, but I love Diogu's game. If we can Sweeney/KT for size (see Center), I'd love to take Diogu at the # 30 spot. He is the type of balls out, hard core player that could've played for Riley's Knicks or the Pistons (Daly or Brown).

I think Wayne Simien is a lot like David West. An okay talent who is solid but nothing more. Nice college career though.

Similarly, Isiah has to take a good look at some of the point guards in this draft. If Deron Williams or Ray Felton are available at #8, those aren't bad picks either.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.
