man you are so correct. i was amazed watching him tonight, just amazed. he's doing all this against tim duncan too. one thing i really like about amare is his body language during a game. he is up for every single play. doesn't piss and moan when he loses a call, never gives up on a ball. that was a treat watching him tonight.

i know but just remember he had a scary rep coming out of high school and i don't mean good scary. what did he have like 5 different high schools, a bad upbringing, a rep for being pretty out of control. teams were looking at handing over $10M and a top draft slot to a guy with a major shaky past to that point.

yup, but the suns worked him out, liked what they saw, made him a promise and he shut down workouts for anybody else. we need to find someone like that.

what a great game to watch. you can refer back to this performance years from now "hey, remember that night amare made duncan his biatch?"

he's good man, real good.

rv - of course he's better now than he was 3 years ago but let's not make this a marbury/nash debate. let's appreciate amare.

Yes Amare is a great player but what he has over others from the draft is that he got PT right off the bat. If Knicks can learn that then the Knicks will have learned to develope a Star. Just imagine Sweetney had he been given the opportunity to play from day one. Sweetney might not be close Amare but I guarantee you he would be better than what he is now. As for the Knicks dropping the ball on Amare true but other teams also did that. But what I do know is that the Knicks would have kept him stupid and he would be backing up KT to this day. That my friend is fact of living the NYK life.

Is that really your interpretation of the game? I'd say Amare *slightly* outplayed Duncan while Duncan got the win. I'd rather be in Duncan's shoes.

If I were starting a team right now, Lebron's the only player I'd take ahead of Amare. I'd give some thought to Wade, but I'd still take Amare ahead of him.

did anyone see a espn special a long time ago, about another high school pf. he declared early and signed with an agent, and wasnt drafted and went overseas. He was suppose to come out the same year as amare, and he was supposedly better but got a bad rep for punching a teamate, anyone know?

down the stretch of that game, duncan was left looking at amare going right around him dunking on his head, multiple times. he had no answer for him. that was truly a special 4th quarter performance.

that's true. It might have been the groin injury. Or it might just be that Amare is too fast for anyone to guard him. Duncan had a ton of 4th quarter points too though.

Wowww....How did I know that this was coming???? you guys are sick...Amare has been a baller all throughout his arrival in the league....I will not compare him to anyone at this point. He is 6'10" with solid muscles and crazy hops.

The Knicks or Layden has droped the ball and he deserves to be incarcerated. How in the hell is he going to pass on a talented dude like Amare, and how in the hell is he going to trade a guy like Nene? Isiah would not have made such mistakes....However, just like we found Ariza in the second round, we will find an athlete like Amare or perhaps better with one of our 2 or 3 first round picks

LOL, if it wasn't for Lebron off the court news I would sometimes forget the guy is in the league.

8 teams passed over him. Denver took Nene and Skita over Amare.

Dice looked real good in preseason. It was a knick type of trade, STARPHUCHED. Knicks look to add established pieces since 1975 and perhaps only now do we think about building thru the draft.

We have been trading away picks for years. The Marbury trade was the same kind of trade, except Marbs did not blow out his knee! IM not saying Laydog did not have his share of failures, but if the boss man says go starphuck the fans, he and Isiah are gonna do it.

Funny thing, Layden was the architect for the Marbury trade, Isiah just executed it. Isiah overpaid.

Mistakes, it happens. All the time. Get over it, move forward.

This is not Laydens team anymore.

The reason why not drafting Amare hurts so much is because Mark Jackson actually went to the Knicks brass and told them about this kid. Don't know if you guys remember or not but there was an article about how Mark Jackson was trying to get the Knicks to draft him at 7. It was ironic that Jackson then got traded on draft night in the McDyess deal but anyway, the point is, we had someone telling us to draft Amare. Its not like we didn't know who the hell he was.

if thats true than hire Mark right now! I wanted him as coach a while ago but whatever. I think it would be great to have Mark as coach and Isiah as president. We would never draft a bust again!
