Most of you are talking about the drafts and the players we might bring in our team, but since we may draft 3 players this year, who will be the current Knicks who won't play for us next season...

Sundov is obviously one, what about Butler? Do you think trades will happen? Or buyouts? Do you think we might only keep our 2 first rounders and let our second rounder go...

No matter what the Knicks do they still have to make a trade or two to loosen up the roster.

I'm all for buying out Tim Thomas but the Knicks are gonna need a replacement. Ariza is the future but it would probably mean more losing if he is asked to play minutes he's not ready for. Ariza needs more time to prove he can score in this league.

That 5 headed power forward is killing me. KT has to go no matter what happens just because he has good value.

If the Knicks look at JYD as a 3 then that leaves Rose and Taylor. Maybe Rose back to Texas with Houston for Weatherspoon(buyout)?

So that leaves Taylor as the starter? Maybe we keep Sweets and go with Sweets and Taylor with whoever we draft. JYD would be the insurance for the 4-3? Makes sense.

Something has to be done whether it's chiping away like this of doing something like trying to trade for Boozer or something.

Why buying out TT or Penny? Won't the represent trade assets at the trade deadline when teams will be looking for major salary cap relief? I'm all for keeping them and use their expiring contract. I don't believe NY will go under the salary cap anyway.

There will not be any desirable out there for the Knicks to trade for..Last season or this season was the best time to do such a trade, but unfortunately, we didn't have anyone to trade....

at that salary level, we'd be looking at trading them for one worthwhile player and cap filler, i.e. penny, mo, jyd, malik-type contracts for marginal players. buying out at least one out of either penny or TT would not be a bad thing.

I don't see another team looking to acquire Penny so I would buy him out, especially since he made his feelings known about returning to Orlando. TT has the most value and would be very beneficial to a contender around the trade deadline. I think TT has benefit to a team before the start of the season too. A team that he would help alot would be a Miami but I don't think Riley could persaude the James Dolan to even talk to him besides (it sounds funny) but Miami doesn't have anything of value to give back for TT. Also, I could see TT getting traded to Dallas but again I don't think Dallas has the goods (core guys aside).

Trading either Timmy or Penny would make no sense unless the Knicks got a bonified starter and a player that will either crack the rotation or be bought out. I'm not seeing too many people available around the league.

Boozer is a guy we're talking about on these boards but aside from him there really isn't many options.

Stacking salary is something the Knicks have got to stop unless there is something awesome offered. My feeling is the Knicks need to close that door as soon as possible. The press will kill Isiah no matter if he buys them out or if he trades them for more players.

Bottom line is before they think about adding players......something has to be done with the guys currently on the roster.
