I think the Knick's choices can be summarized below.. but I had to really squeeze some players in:

1. A developed big. This is someone who is a a senior in college or played a lot in Europe. You know pretty much everything about his potential. You also know, at pick 8, that he'll just be ok, never an all star. Frye and possibly vasquez and maye fit here.

2. A potential big. There are players with "potential." They're high risk/reward and need a few years to develop. IMO, these are too risky because it seems like GM's are drafting based on height and not athletic ability. Who really knows if they will be able to use that size well? Players like Bynum, Blatche, Splitter, Petro and Martynas fit here.

3. A great athelete who doesnt fit well and has work ethic/attitude problems. These are exciting players who can use all their potential. However, they are tweeners or arent exactly real centers. Also, theyre work ethic/attitude/heart is questionable. Charlie V, Antoine Wright and Taft fit here.

4. Same as above except doesnt have issues with work ethic/heart. Warrick, Green, Granger, and even Webster fit here.

For me the choice is clear: #4. Im the kind of fan that wants tremendous atheletes who have heart. They make the game exciting and i'd sacrifice some wins for exciting plays. Lets get some life back in the Garden.

Also, the other choices aren't appealing:
1. The developed bigs are just gonna be role players.
2. The potential bigs are too much of a risk. We might not have such high picks later, lets not guess on them.
3. There aren't many T Mac's out there: players who are incredibly atheltic but look lazy while in reality they dont have any of these issues.
4. This is the clear choice.

No.2. We need to shoot for the moon. We're not really close now so we need get someone we can build on to be competetive in the future. I'd love to get Bynum/Martynas/Splitter/Petro. Guys with real star potential.

My 2nd choice would be no.4, but more the Green/Webster type who can develop into a superstar wing.

i second that emotion. i'm really not that big on frye, i've seen him play too often. i would definetely trust zeke's decision though, if there's no big worth taking w/our pick we go w/the best avail. i doubt that will happen though.
w/my 8.pick i go big bynum/splitter/petro
30.pick athletic wing or 3rd point for our offense nate robinson/j.hodge/(on the fence about rawle marshall)
54.pick go for a center that falls under the radar akindele/badaine. these two are definete shot blockers off the bench and off alot of peoples' radar all together.

I do want a big with lots of upside. I know there aren't any Ewings in this draft, but there are talented players. Among Bynum, Blatche, Splitter, Petro and Martynas, I like the first three. I'm not interested in Petro or Martyynas.

I like #2 also. I do believe that with some proper maneuver we can endup with Petro and Bynum in N.Y.

i want someone who plays the game angry & at a high speed...i'm sick of these meager Mike Sweetney types getting pushed around...let's get some fire & passion on this team...JYD is the only guy who shows emotion on the floor on a consistent basis...Ariza has his moments but he's still learning the game...i want someone who'll throw down in your face & let you know about it.

I like what I READ about PETRO. He seems to have it all. I also like Spitter and Frye. I would love Hodges. I think being from Harlem, the kid would LIGHT up NYC!!! NY needs a backcourt of STEPH and HODGES, NYC!!

I want Bynum at #8, Akindele at #30 (because Blatche and or Petro won't be there by then) and Salim at #54 (because Hodges won't be there then). Sure i'd love to see us get Bynum, Petro and Hodges...but it ain't gonna happen.

I really think we need a G here, even if it's a 10 minute back up. Either a 6th man type--Louis Williams or a back up PG--Nate Robinson--then you have other posibilities like Francisco Garcia unless if some one falls like Chris Taft or Andrey Blatche does some kind of tumbling routine, well Ill take Chirs taft at 30 even with a motivation problem.
I think these superior athletic smaller 6th men i.e Bobby Jackson, Ben Gordon open up a huge market for Louis, because Louis has more talent than 95% of the draft anyway, he is just caught in the conudrum of being a little to young right now. But he has proven to be a dominant player among the top of his peers, a guy who is perfect for a 6th man type role, and also has a much higher ceiling than the normal 30 pick and thats what we are looking for. Nate Robinson to me represents tremendous tremendous value here because he is back up PG who can really defend baseline to baseline and has all athe abilities to be a solid offensive player as well. If Nate was 6-3 he would be a top 5 pick.
