just received my season ticket renewal package and i just wanted to share "A Message from Steve Mills" which was in no doubt, written specifically to me

Dear djsunyc, (name protected b/c of several warrants throughout the east coast)

Thank you for once again proving that New York Knicks fans are the best in the NBA. This year, despite results that were disappointing for all of us, you remained loyal and supportive, and that meant a great deal to the entire organization.

Over the last 18 months, we have developed a strategy to rebuild the Knicks with youth and energy in order to create a successful franchise all of New York can be proud of for the long-term. While short term dissapointment is unfortunately part of the process, we are confident that we are moving in the right direction.

Last season we had the youngest Knicks team since 1989-90. We caught a glimpse of the promise of some of our young playrs who created a buzz in The Garden. We are confident that the assets we now have acquired, which include multiple draft picks and a core group of young veterans, as well as any additional moves we may make, will further strengthen the team's long-term prospects.

While we believe that the future of the New York Knicks is extremely bright, we also recognize that the team's short-term struggles are frustrating and disappointing. For that reason, and to confirm our on-going committment to you - our valued Season Subscribers - we will not be raising ticket prices next season.

Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at The Garden next season.

Sincerely,

Steve Mills

That's pretty interesting how they on several occassions noted that short-term this isn't going to the best thing in the world but that they are building for the future. Good to see it sounds like the direction young and energy is going to be maintained.

Thanks for that djsunyc! I gotta admit that the warrants part was funny even though it probably wasn't intended to be

got the same letter.. USually when they dont make the playoffs, they don't raise ticket prices..

If the knicks make the playoffs in the upcoming season and get bounced out of the 1st round, they'll raise it in a heartbeat..

What good is having young overpaid players that hinder you from acquiring actual championship calibur players through free agency or the Draft?

Mo Taylor is young but makes $10mil

Steph is young but will make $22mil when he's 33. He definitely doesn't deserve that kind of money since he's not a franchise player.

all the while, other big market well managed teams acquire the Lebron, Shaq, McGrady Nash, Wades of the world. The Knicks should be one of these teams. They're in the biggest market and have a ton of history. Why are we a laughing stock?!

i'm thinking they included butler in that mix, so two 19 year olds will bring that average WAY down.

Don't be silly, fish. Why would we want to play a young center with potential when we have some games to win so that we can lose a good draft position? ;)
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Unfortunately, we don't know if he even has potential. I mean, personally, that layup he hit captured my heart, but hey, since he got a layup, I'm sure he's the next Shaq.

Only the Knicks would sit the next Shaq

Ohh thank you for not raising ticket prices this organization has a lot of ****ing nerve. Last year with a record under 500 they raised ticket prices.....

God forbid we have a good team, none of us will afford to go to consessions

This team got real old for a while. Bring in Derek Harper, Vandewiegh, Charles smith, Herb, Cheeks, Doc, Rolando, Mark Jax, etc, all at the end of career will drive up the age!

With hindsight now clear, too bad Isiah was too arrogant to just blow it up when he got here! Marbs was just not worth it. We proved we can lose with him.

We could have tanked just a bit and had that 6th pick!

It just seems by the seat kind of thing. Last year Isiah tried to put a decent product on the floor. Since it failed, and we took on more salary, NOW we rebuild?
