...according to nbadraft.net. I guess this thing will be changing every week but who would you prefer, Villanueva or Granger? I wouldn't mind either, but i still like Villanueva. He's 3 inches taller, 2 years younger, and has similar skills. Those factors alone give him more potential. Plus he can play the 3, or even 4 when Ariza is in. On top of that he's a new yorker. What it will come down to is who is the better basketball player, but i think Villaneuva has more talent and upside to say the least.

I agree!!!!!!!

I really don't like Granger. I think he is over rated as far as his play in college. One of his last games in college was against San Diego state. Granger got his numbers but I didn't really remember what he did so special in the game. I was more impressed with Slaughter from San Diego State, who plays his position.

I dunno.

I would not be mad if we got Granger but I would flip out if my fellow East New York representitive was on my Knicks. Put East New York on the world map. I could hear Mike Breen talking to Clyde:

Breen: "Villenueva is from East New York, Brooklyn.....kind of tough neighborhood, huh Clyde?

Clyde: "Oh yeah,......I got alot of biotches over there"

I have to ask. Once again, I don't follow NCAA, but if we're drafting a 3/4, is Charlie really a better choice than Hakim Warrick? Charlie may have a couple inches and 2 years on him, but I have not heard the best things about Villanueva. I think I'd probably draft Hakim despite the unimpressive workout.(Only between Warrick and Villanueva, the boards have me hyped on Bynum, Splitter, Blatche, or someone like Green if they by some off chance slip to #8)

Sorry to waste posts....

Charlie Villenueva, Channing Fyre, or Danny Granger I can all live with as long as Isiah can figure out what to do with those the 5 headed monster.

Have you two ever watched any college basketball besides a big east game? Your opinions seem to be solely based on what games you have seen.

Villanueava.. how is he going to guard anyone at the three? He's 6'11 and smooth, but he doesn't have the quickness to guard anyone. Defense anyone. Granger has a 7'2 wingspan at 6'8, and has a complete offensive game. Not a fan of Villaneuva not a fan of Warrick (for our team specifically).

Right now I've got five guys I really like that fit.

Granger, Graham, Webster, Wright, and Splitter at #8. All would fit our roster, add offense/defense with athleticism, and have good character. All five have a jump shot, all five are above average athletes with complete offensive games, all five will be available at #8. We need shooting, rebounding, and defense. Warrick is too similar to Ariza and Villaneuva is the type of player the Knicks need to stay away from.

When did Splitter get a jumpshot? I never heard that one before. I want a center at 8 - right now until things get more clearly defined I'm open to Splitter, Bynum, Petro, Andreezy, maybe even Vasquez.

I think CV is definitely capable of guarding small forwards. He's long and athletic so he has the tools. Granger is with no doubt the 'safe pick' of the two, as he may have more of an impact right away, but CV is two years younger and isn't too far behind, and there's no denying he has far more upside. The other concern with Granger is his affect on Ariza. They are both SFs, and that is the only position both will be starting at in their careers most likely. CV can move to the PF when Ariza develops but Granger can't. When you're looking at our rotation 2 years down the road CV makes more sense. But i agree on the fact that Granger is a better defender and might be a slightly better player right now. If he came though TT would have to be gone. I have no problem with either, i just see CV as an all-star someday where as i think Granger will be a very good player for a long time, but not a superstar.

Here you all go again with drafting another undersized player....What is this? the haven for players below 6'9"? True Knickebockers know that we have to draft big or no one shorter than 6'10". I am not a fan of Villanueva, because he, TT, Mo, have similar game. I want a young guy like Bynum, Blatche, Frye who are all taller than the names that you have all mentioned. Look, this will be our only chance in a long time to draft 2 to 3 big men to replace what we have been missing since Ewing.

Based on what? What makes you think the Knicks won't be in the lottery next year?

I don't care if we are in the lottery, but there will not be this many big men available next season....When was the last time you have heard of this many 6'10" talented youngsters in a draft? that last time that happened was when during the year when Kwame, Gasol, Curry, and others were chosen 1-5

That's hardly encouraging since Kwame sucks, Curry is just crawling his way out of suckland, Chandler sucks and Diop is a permanent greeter at the House of Suck.

Hey! that is the chance that teams have to take. If it works out, it works out...But they can't say that they didn't try....Gasol is a star in this league, you didn't mention his name

I have to ask. Once again, I don't follow NCAA, but if we're drafting a 3/4, is Charlie really a better choice than Hakim Warrick? I think I'd probably draft Hakim despite the unimpressive workout.(Only between Warrick and Villanueva, the boards have me hyped on Bynum, Splitter, Blatche, or someone like Green if they by some off chance slip to #8)
Apparently, Warrick isn't having the best of workouts lately. My guess he is asked to play against NBA type 4s and 3s and his having a rough go at it. Also his ballhandling as been bad at some of these workouts.

Say no to Warrick why. He is Kenny Walker revisited. great athelticism but no handle. Kenny had the the worst ball handling skills I have ever seen. As for Warrick he reminds me of Kenny Walker from college. Undersized PF projected to be SF in NBA. But missing a jumper and ball handling skills. I really wouldn't waste time with Warrick. He will be available in the 20 range and may drop into second round.
