Any thoughts? Is he a legit 6'10" 250? Would he be a load on the boards in the NBA?

NBA Draft Profile: Ronny Turiaf

Stats: ESPN Statistics

Height: 6-10

Weight: 249 lbs.

Very physical big man who competes hard all the time… has really refined his offensive skills during college career… can play with his back and facing basket… sometimes too emotional… needs to become more consistent producer…

Siegel's Take - Top 30 Scouting Reports

“As good as Turiaf was at Gonzaga, it always seemed like he never lived up to his potential. Constant injuries played a big part, as did foul trouble in big games. Turiaf simply has more natural talent than a fellow big man like Wayne Simien, but if he can’t make it through a college season, how can he make it through an 82 game NBA season? Regardless of the injury risk, he’s too good of a talent, and big man who can bang down low are too high of a priority, for him to drop into the 2nd round.”

he's a rebounding beast, kind of like a poor-man's Charles Oakley - I would love him on the knicks because I think we need more players with fire and toughness, but if we were going to draft him we have to clear out that glut of 4's we have right now.

We gotta clear out that glut anyway. If he's a legit 6'10" rebounder then I don't mind drafting another 4, especially if we're taking centers at 8 and 54.

We have to take the best player available regardless of position with the 30th pick. If Turiaf is that player, then take him.

Turiaf works hard. He reminds me of Etan Thomas. If it wasn't for all the underclassmen he would go higher than #30. I think he has a NBA ready game. Role player type.

Yeah...Etan Thomas is exactly the guy he reminds me of. A ferocious PF/C type who plays with a lot of energy and hustle. I like him enough to take him at 30.
