in a recent post, i said that he had to show something, that he quit on school, he was terrible in practice, getting beaten by a 7 foot back up and now this

http://draftcity.com/dcdaily.php?p=337

i said i think this guy has kwame brown syndrome. its to bad because he does have great potential and will still be picked high, but Jeez if isiah wants Taft, he might as well drop back to the clippers at 12--and pick up 32

We have the leverage at 8

the draft SHOULD go like this
bogut
williams[who was telling me he wouldnt go 2?]
green
paul
williams
felton

from there its pot luck

Wow. As one of the biggest Taft supporters on this board, this is extremely disheartening. Chris has all the physical traits and basketball skills to make an All-Star NBA basketball player and he shows up to these workouts and does this? I admit that I was not concerned at all with the season he had last year at Pitt becuase of various reasons such as the type of offense Pitt runs and the sophmore slump that most Sophmores go through, but this news on draftcity might just tell us and most importantly myself what we need to know about Chris Taft and maybe his season last year was attributed to nothing more then his own laziness and lack of hunger. I'll give you the props on this one Briggs.

I guess Bynum is our guy now?

At 8 I would only trade if I am able to package that pick with a bad contract a la Mo T. or Rose or Kurt Thomas, for 2 1st round draft picks and a player that can help immediately. The Lakers may want to moveup, so they can be a great parter. They are currently at 10 and has a player in Odoms that I really want. Knowing that he may not fit in any system with Kobe, and also knowing that his contract puts a damper in their cap space, they would probably be inclined to replace him with a player like Kurt that can provide the same production.

I have been saying this as well. But I've only seen him one game, and went by reports the rest of the way. But in the one game, he didn't really look good. I'm glad Isiah shook his head in disgust. I just wonder who he's going after. I pray it's Bynum or Blatche. I really want him to get another mid 1st round pick though.

I love this. Only because I am praying that he drops like a stone. I hate lazy primadonna players. Oh by the way, I've been blasted on this site for saying this all along.

Bynum has to prove some things coming up. You have to earn pick 8. IF Bynum does well, if he shows really good stuff, THEN its a no brainer. But he has to show it first.

Im not discounting Tiago Splitter here either.

if not then we are looking at the wings

I knew this was coming. Taft needs to get his sht together. Only reason I think teams will draft him is because of his upside and his youth(19). But if its not too late he should go back to college

Well, the article said he hired an agent, which makes him ineligible to play college bball. So it's either pro or Europe for Taft, from this point on.

How come I don't hear Warrick's name anymore? Where is he projected to be picked up at?

mid first round about. He's a good player and we could use guys like him, but there are guys with a higher ceiling right now and we need to make an attempt to develop ourselves a franchise player, instead of trading for one and taking back so much crap and giving up so much.

True. I dont know.. right now the best player available at to the Knicks might not be a big man. Theres the options of Splitter and Bynum but I think the best player and safest pick might be Danny Granger. I know alot of people would be upset with this pick but I think Granger is going to be a solid pro but of course that doesn't solve the Knicks front-line problems.

couldn't agree more. if Bynum is gone which is very likely than I it would be between Granger, Webster, Splitter & Blatche I think

We have to get another 1st rd pick! Bynum & Granger or Webster would be an amazing draft! I wouldn't have traded down if we had a shot at bogut, green and marvin but now its just not worth having only one pick at 8. We have to find a trading partner.
draft:
Bynum
Granger or Webster
30. Blatche, Splitter, vazquez or Morris

Antoine Wright is interesting too. That report said he looked great. We need a SG more than we need a SF.

Say we take Bynum at 8 and trade for a mid 1st round pick. Would you draft Wright or Granger? Granger might be gone anyway. Bynum and Wright would be great! We'd fill our biggest needs!

I'd rather have Wright than Graham since he is a more complete player with ballhandling skills. And we desperately need a 6-7 starting SG who plays defense

does anyone think Taft is dogging it ala Amare if there was some kind of handshake deal with a team that he really wants to go to?

Could be.

I've been a big Taft supporter, but that has to end now. If Chris was so bad that Isiah was shaking his head then the Knicks shouldn't and won't take him. Let's hope Isiah still likes Channing Frye, because we need a big man. At least Frye seems to be taking the workouts seriously, as his stock is rising.
