Trade Sweets and the 54 for a mid 1st rounder and maybe a higher 2nd rounder....I am starting to go on a Joe Graham high again thinking that he may be a great guard to have to possibly put Craw on the bench.

Wih the 8 we draft Petro (he probably won't be there at 30) and maybe we can grab Turiaf or another big man (there seems o be plenty of them in this draft) at 30 and maybe one of the kids (such as Bynum) will fall to us around that higher 2nd round pick.

Petro/Butler
KT/Turiaf
Ariza/TT
Steph/Graham'Craw

that's not a bad idea. Memphis might like to take a look at Sweetney for their 19th pick. Sweetney + 3 million for the 19th? That makes some sense.

In that case though, I'd draft Frye at 8, Bynum/Blatche/Petro/Warrick at 19 (I'm pretty sure Petro will slip to 19, the others MIGHT but it's not likely). so say PEtro at 19.

Go SG at 30: Hodge/Gomes/Garcia

Trade Penny for Jalen, straight up. Saves Toronto $16 million, gives us a scorer/shooter/ballhandler with a tough/veteran/winning attitude. Save Tim Thomas for backup or trade at feb 06 deadline.

Frye/Petro
KT/Malik/JYD
Jalen/Ariza/TT(ir)
Jamal/Hodge
Steph/Daniels (from SEA, full MLE)

Joe...

Graham is a power three. If you want a big 2, go with Wright.

Is he? draftcity had him compared to very favorably compared to Maggette, which I took as a 2-3 "power" swingman. Looking at the reports for Wright it sounds as if he is another jumper first type of 2 whereas Graham was a little more well rounded with alot of hard drives and a post game that I don't know if Wright has.

I'm really not interested in trading Sweetney yet. Lets give him another year or two. I really don't think he hurt the team that much this year. He needs to work hard again this Summer, and he needs to keep that weight down for good. Lets see what he does. I know a lot of people can't stand the sight of him and are already calling him Tractor Traylor, but Sweetney isn't THAT big, and I am trusting him that he'll be going the other way this Summer. Keep that faith.

Joe.. he's not a two. His ball handling, body, and game seem much better suited for the three. He could get some mismatches there. At the two he'd have to be a better shooter than he is, and he'd have to get his own shot. Those are both projections. Wright is the same height.. and has more developement in those areas. Graham is a great athlete.. that is more suited for the three.

ok...do you think we can shift Ariza to the 2 and have a 3 guard rotation of Steph Craw and Trev and draft Graham to play the SF spot...I am not really too comfortable with a shorter SF but the question would be could Graham be too good to pass up.

the thing about Sweetney, is that there are better PF options in this years draft. if we can move sweetney(while he still has some value) for another pick, or in a package, i say do it.

Joe.. I like the 6'8 Granger more at the three because of his perimeter game, ball handling, and 7'2 wingspan (he can D it up). Graham is hard worker from a good program, with a great NBA ready body... but his developement was somewhat dissapointing considering how gifted he is. His perimeter game isn't as far along it should have been. Maybe the NBA would suit him better..

Ariza is a role player at this point (who needs and deserves burn)..
with no outside shot. You want someone to come in and take Timmy's place after we deal his contract.

Granger and Webster shoot well with good athleticism and all around game. Wright is pretty good. Graham is average for a three.
